Title: DELANEYS - Wrong Item Received
Post by: AusMLP on August 13, 2013, 08:43:44 PM
Hi.

I won this listing : Mint in Bag Mail Order Rainbow Pony Parasol  (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/181180254889?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649): But got this one instead :Mint in Bag Mail Order Lucky the Stallion (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Mint-in-Bag-Mail-Order-Lucky-the-Stallion-Very-first-boy-pony-/181180258683?pt=TV_Movie_Character_Toys_US&hash=item2a2f2f597b) I contacted them the day I got the parcel and again a few days later, the second message with a Photo so they could see I'd gotten the wrong pony.

I finally got a reply today stating that they had been "out of town" and that they would look into their records and see if they can track my Pony down. If they couldn't they'll refund my purchase.

I know of one other case recently where they sent items to the wrong person and that person then had to on send the item to the correct person. I would like to think if you got the wrong item you'd do what I've done and contact the seller ASAP.

I'm not sure what the postage system is like for other countries right now but I know AusPost is slow so I'd think if my Parasol was going to turn up with another buyer she would have by now.

I'm wondering if anyone else has been having Issues with them? I know they are older members of the community, and their feedback on ebay is good. It just seems off to me.

It would seem odd if the other buyer had not contacted them about receiving the incorrect item. Perhaps they just did not want to admit to already knowing of an issue?

I know plenty of people have had issues with them over the years. I hope they are able to track down your pony or offer a suitable situation.

It was ladyguinevere83 who won the Lucky. She's in the UK. http://feedback.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=ladyguinevere83&ftab=AllFeedback&rt=nc

And she is probably the ladyguinevere who is on here. http://mlparena.com/index.php?action=profile;u=10

Try sending her a message.

I am pretty sure Starfaerie is correct that is LadyG's Ebay ID. So maybe the two of you can work something out along the lines of shipping each other the right pony instead of sending them back to the seller.

If you do come to that agreement, I would contact your seller back and let them know of your arrangements. Also that you both would like to be reimbursed for your shipping charges. It's only fair since it was there mistake. Plus it is actually the most logical solution or you'll be waiting for months to get the right pony if it has to be sent back to the seller for them to reship.

And although they are on the Bad Trader list and there have been issues, I believe they usually make good when problems arise.

Keep us posted and I will try and give LadyG a head's up too. I know she has been super busy.

Ponylady has given some good advice there ^^ Hopefully you and LadyG will be able to help each other sort this out :)  Its frustrating when a seller messes up and sends the wrong pony, but at least you know that theres a good chance it went to another reliable Arena member and it isnt lost.

LadyG hasn't got Parsol, but we'll give it a few more days, either way I'll be forwarding Lucky to her shortly.

Wow, I had no idea the Delaneys are in Australia now. I remember back in the late 90s when they lived in VA.

Their still in Virginia. AusMLP just purchased it through Australian Ebay.

Yup, it's me! Time is not my strong suit at the moment and I hadn't realised how long it had been yet  No Parasol yet, but it could still turn up.

Something worth noting is that I did get a partial postage refund from the Delaneys after they shipped my item. Not sure if that means anything or not. I'd have to check how much I paid and how much I got back.

Post Merge: August 14, 2013, 01:41:41 PM

I checked and I paid $15.90, and was refunded $6 of that.

I got a refund too, think it was $1.50, I've not had anything back from them yet, but I figured they would take a while...

I think Jeanne just handles SOOOO many ponies that she makes mistakes, though she means well.  I hope everyone gets the correct ponies!

Well got a suprise today, Parasol was in my mail box, direct from the Delaney's so it look like they posted me both in error.

I'm off to post LadyG's Lucky to her tomorrow and hopefully I can be reimbursed for the postage by the Delaneys.

I'm yet to hear back from them, but I've sent them a msg to let them know I have her and am forwarding Lucky on and will Invoice them the Postage.

Wow, so glad she showed up! So lucky that both ponies were bought by Arena members so you can get Lucky to the right person. ^-^

Posted Lucky off on Saturday, requested the postage off them through Paypal and get payment right away, but still no communication, haven't checked who I've on posted to or anything.

I'm inclined to leave neutral feedback but not sure what to say. I'll be leaving low starts for Communication for sure.

I think you are well with in your rights to ding their stars for communication. And the neutral is entirely up to you.

But if it were me and I was nice enough to help fix their mistake and send it to the right buyer at my expense, I would be a bit peeved at their lack of attention to the matter  I suppose you could give it a couple days to see if they respond/refund you before leaving it though. It was the weekend and I know myself that I was gone all weekend with no internet, so that could be the case with them. I am not saying it is but it's a possibility.

I to would message them again asking them to pay the postage costs. I think you have been more than patient with them.. but I do agree with ponylady, wait a couple of days to see if they respond not everyone goes on the net daily : )

I quite frankly think you are nice considering a neutral at this stage, I think if they don't sort out the postage I would be inclined to leave a neg as they really haven't tried to fix there mistake at all

Well they are on the net, got payment for the postage within the hour but still no reply on eBay.

I personally have dealt with them a few times, and have been quite disappointed in the lack of communication.     And one of those times I was sent the wrong item as well.  I know these things may happen when selling a bunch of items at once, but it sure helps to have communication from the seller to ease the transaction.  Good luck AusMLP!

I am glad to hear they reimbursed you. I suppose maybe since they sent the payment that there was no need to respond to you. It would have been nice though just so you didn't have to worry whether you were going to receive it or not.

Its good to know that they paid the postage :bigups:  I find it strange that there was still no communication though

They haven't communicated with me either, which I'm disappointed about since I asked about my item and they know it has gone via Australia.

I realised that ebay showed a tracking number for my item, but it shows no info, not even that it was accepted in the US.

I find lack of communication to be one of the most damaging things in my eyes. Even if someone "fixes" a mistake (Like goes ahead and sends a refund or replacement or what have you)If they do not communicate with me that is a huge black mark for me. To me it always seems a) rude and b) like they are hiding and don't want to own up to their mistakes.

I have to say that i completely agree with this.  A little acknowledgment goes a long way into having a happy resolution.

I agree. It's like, "You're not even worth a simple apology." I have no problem leaving neutral or negative feedback.

Thanks to AusMLP, Baby Lucky did arrive today, so a big thank you to her!

The Delaneys did eventually get back to me and did admit that it had been mislabelled and went via Australia, so at least they didn't try to hide it.
