Blunder the fish? Do you mean Flounder?

So for those of you that have some of the new dolls from the Disney store, what do you think of the overall quality compared to Mattel and how much you like them? I haven't bought Disney store dolls in ages because I was getting pretty disappointed with how they were starting to look not so show accurate. I really disliked Aurora from last year when I went to look at her in store when we went to the Mall of America. I have quite a few older Sleeping Beauty dolls.

Anyway, I was thinking of getting Snow White and her prince, and Aurora and Prince Phillip to display with my EAH dolls Briar Beauty and Apple White.

My biggest disappointment with the new Disney Princess Dolls that just came out are that there are no knee joints. I'm hoping to find the Aurora from last year because she has the knee joints. I don't like her legs sticking out.

I found this poor Rapunzel doll the other day at Toys R Us! The crown had fallen down onto her face.

Would anyone be so kind as to tell me what the differences between the new Animator's dolls and the old?

Obviously Belle is in her gown but the rest.......

Is it the added glitter?  Poncahontas looks EXCATLY the same to me   Guess I don't have the eye for this sort of thing:)

That's what I thought too!

Snow White's dress is also different.
Rapunzel's skirt is different
And Ariel has Glitter instead of Velvet scales.
I can't see any difference in Pocahontas

They are also all missing their plushy friends

Here is last year's ones

Why oh why did I not buy this Pocahontas?!? So many regrets... But at least I snagged Belle and she is such a little sweetie.

My Little Mermaid deluxe doll set with Vanessa came yesterday. Overall it's a really nice set, but it's going to take a while to get used to Vanessa's light purple skintone. I think she would have looked great with Ariel's skintone instead but I think they were going for a "let's make it obvious Vanessa is really Ursula in disguise" look even though she has the shell that holds Ariel's voice.  It's really nice having the first offical Vanessa doll. :)

One day I want to get the early 1990's Mattel Sleeping Beauty doll. The one that you could change her dress color and close her eyes using water.

I caved and bought the Disney Store exclusive Taffyta doll from Wreck-it Ralph  I don't know why I waited so long, I should have bought her from the Disney Store when they had her but I didn't realize they wouldn't really be carrying Wreck-it Ralph merchandise anymore.

Wow,

Bow Tie that Ariel is really pretty. I'd love see what she looks like in real life.  I'm not sure how I feel about the tail yet though. If anyone is lucky enough to get one, please post pictures. :)

I am primarily an Ariel collector when it comes to Disney stuff, but I'm somewhat picky about my Ariels!  I have the first original Tyco release Ariel MIB, last year's Animator's Collection Ariel with Flounder, and the Wedding Ariel/Eric set that came out around 2006 (I got it around the time of my own wedding...which didn't last but I still have the set!).  I also have a limited edition Disney World Ariel sculpture from around 1994, at least one Disney Store snowglobe, the small snowglobe that came out with the re-release on DVD several years back, small plush Sebastian and Flounder, and a Ballerina Ariel doll with doll stand.  My mom also joined the Disney Collector's Club a few years ago when an Ariel figurine was the member figure for joining :-)  I'd really like to get a few more at some point, mainly the early releases (pre-1992).

I sold most of my other Disney dolls at the Fair this year, but I still have Sun Colors Pocahontas, the original Beast, and the Disney Store Tiana.  I also kept a Rapunzel, the Disney Store Merida with green dress/black cloak, and my original childhood Belle :-)
