I'm a big Little Mermaid collector and just found out about the Little Mermaid set with Vanessa. I wish I had a Disney Store near me. Does anyone know if that set will show up online?

Ponyfan

Oh, I was just at the disney store half an hour ago, I could have picked one up if I'd known.

Do you remember how much the Little Mermaid set was?

Ponyfan

Nope, sorry. Didn't look too closely at it. Kiddo was just commenting on how pretty the set was and how many sisters Ariel had in the other set.

That's okay. :) I just need to know how much the set is before I ask anyone to pick one up for me.

My research says the set is the same price as the cinderella one from last year.  So that is USD80. I could be wrong so it is best that someone checks the price for you. Also it shouldnt be long till it comes online

I don't think it's $80, that seems way high.

Thanks for finding out the price for me Bow Tie. :) It's a little more than I was expecting it to be but like you say you are getting 5 dolls for less than $20 a piece.  I wonder if there's any chance that Disney will release Vanessa by herself at some point. I'm not sure what to do now though.

I bought Pocahontas today..and Jasmine and Merida. All the Classic Dolls, well except for Merida, I bought her for 2 dollars.

$79.95 OUCH! Sticker shock on that one. The thing is, the other 4 dolls have been out for a good while now. I could be wrong, but I doubt they will release her separately. It is how they will lure people into buying the set that already have the other dolls. Last years Cinderella Deluxe set had Lady Tremain, Anastasia and Drizella and they never were sold as separates in the store either. What you do in regards to buying it (besides the price) may be more of the question of how many of the other dolls you own that are in the set. You could always buy the set and sell off the individual packaged dolls that are duplicates. Another suggestion is to possibly wait till after or around the Christmas season. I am not sure when the Cinderella set went into stores last year, it may have been later in the fall, I can't say. But I was able to get them after Christmas for 50% off and stickered as "clearance" merchandise. Just a thought.

The deluxe set so expensive o_0

Quite naughty of them, the cinderella one had 6 dolls plus dress stand and extra dresses for Cinderella. The Little Mermaid one has 5 dolls, sebastian, flounder  (tiny and theres room for more...) and no dresses

Remember to use promotional codes online, sometimes they have deals like spend over X amount, get 20% off and stuff

Thanks toyjunky and Lyra.

It makes sense that they won't offer Vanessa separately. I have the 2012 versions of Ariel, Triton and Ursula. :) Are there any differences in those dolls in the deluxe versions the other versions. I thought I read that Ariel had another new headmold for 2013 but since I haven't seen them in person, I don't know for sure.

It will be at least a couple of months before I can afford the Little Mermaid set. The Disney Store in my area closed years ago so I have to either shop online or ask someone to get the set for me. It's good to know the Cinderella set went on sale after Christmas though. That gives me hope that I might be able to get the set eventually. :)

Edit: I found a way to get the set. Yay! :)
