I've been after any of the My Little Pony craft patterns for ages, and I finally found this one at the thrift store today for I think all of $0.25 CAD aha (I was so excited I didn't even check, whoops!). The art really is so beautiful! The patterns are pretty cute, too.

I've seen people selling scans of this pattern, but I've not seen them up for free anywhere in the pony community, so if anyone would like scans please feel free to send me your e-mail and I will provide some for you! I'll also probably be putting them up on my scan blog I never actually use so if anyone knows of a good place I could put a link to that when I do so where people could easily find it please let me know that too aha (I'm also happy to donate scans for pony websites if anyone has one!).

Feel free to spread them around as you see fit. The only pony area I hang out in is here so I don't have much reach to get them out to people who might want them!

Pony Corral / Avon-exclusive “rotting pink” G3s. Collectible?
« on: April 28, 2018, 01:52:46 AM »
Hi pony friends!
A friend of mine came to visit me today and was telling me about a unique G3 phenomenon, “rotting pink” hair. Apparently it is exclusive to the Avon releases of two ponies, Jazz Matazz and Tea Lily. A different kind of hair was used in the Avon ponies (presumably to cut costs), and apparently just the red-pink colour in these two ponies ages to be so brittle it disentegrates when touched? I thought that was kind of crazy as I have an Avon Jazz Matazz I bought from the catalogue myself and she looks lovely, so I was shocked when I lightly touched her tail and little shards of hair came off on my hand!

I would imagine there’s nothing that can be done to reverse this (which is a shame as I do like my Jazz Matazz she’s a favourite G3 for me), which leads me to my question: are the Avon versions of these ponies considered to be collectible because of this? Or just an inferior version to the other releases? If she’s something someone would like to have for their herd I’d want to rehome her ASAP before I could accidentally break all the pink out of her hair, as she still looks new for now.

Lately I have been doing some "Punny" commissions in various parts of the internet. Punny is how I call my own way of drawing ponies, as they remind me just as much of bunnies as they do ponies!

Here are some recent commissions (sorry for the JPEGs, I only provide high-res PNGs to the client):

I charge $5 USD for a single punny, $10 for couples, or $3 for just a sketch, if anyone is interested~ Light shading is free, simple backgrounds are an extra $1 as well as complex accessories or character designs.

Background fees can also be used to get a phone wallpaper instead!

I'd also be open to art trades with anyone who does similarly polished work! Doesn't have to be digital and you don't have to be able to/want to draw ponies; other animals or humans would also be fine!

Prices are in CAD not USD and do not include shipping. I am open to offers, deals on multiple purchases, and even trades! I have a trades list here (please note I am not looking to trade for other ponies and I am a bit fussy as I need money more than toys right now).

Hi pony friends! I'm sure none of you know me--I've never been very active here--but I need to sell off some of my stuff and I thought it might be worth putting the word out here as I'd love everything to end up with other collectors.

Right now I've been putting things up on a side-Instagram dedicated to toy selling, so if anyone wanted to check that out it's @childhoodhaven. Now that we can't use photobucket I'm hoping it will be within the rules to link to the images there? Someone correct me if I'm wrong!

For the G1 crowd, I am taking offers on my very nice Whitecap seapony. She is lovely without the usual age spots she is so prone to and still has her original weight and the glue holding it in.

Mostly though I am clearing out my G4 things! I am slowly changing my toy room over to a 1950s-1970s aesthetic and they are far too new. Almost everything I have is MIP (Canadian packaging).

The highlights (all MIP) are:
Blossomforth (no DVD version) $100
Plumsweet $100
Diamond Rose $90
Honeybuzz $75
Snowcatcher $50
Sunny Rays $40
Twinkleshine $40

But I have lots of other pony things too and I am sorting out more things all the time. If you see anything on my Instagram account or have anything in particular you're looking for please feel free to contact me about it here! I will be keeping a close eye on my messages ^^

Thanks for looking! <3

Price Check Archives / Price Check on G1 Seaponies?
« on: August 07, 2017, 04:45:26 AM »
Hi pony friends! I've been out of the collecting loop for awhile and I was wondering if some of you wouldn't mind to help me price check some sea ponies? I'd like to trade some with a friend and I want to make sure I don't stiff her! But I'm having an awfully hard time finding any recent prices for them ^^;;

I have:
Whitecap - Excellent shape. No flaws at all. She's ivory rather than pure white, but I think they all are?
High Tide - Perfect paint, no frizz or damage, but her hair is faded and she has an orange stain on her chin (Looks like highlighter, but it's probably from being rested against  pink plastic at some point).
Backstroke and her float - Factory eye-painting is a little blurry and she has some discolouration from her neck glue but otherwise she's good. I'd also be interested to know the value of just her float? It is pretty-near mint with just one tiny scuff to the orange paint on the crest.
Pearly Surf Rider and her float - Mint asides from her faded hair. Her float has a few small scuffs.
Splasher and her float - She has no flaws, but she might be slightly yellowed? I can't quite tell.  Her float has a couple small scuffs.

Any guidance anyone could offer would be great! Thanks so much!

 Hey friends!
I was wondering if anyone has any scans or photos of art of Pony Bride, the Sweetheart Sisters, Colour Swirl ponies, etc, that they wouldn't mind sharing? I intend to trace them to make linearts, hence asking for permission! I suppose with scans of Hasbro art, even if someone owns the scan, they don't really own the art, so it's sort of a moral grey area, but... I'd rather know it's okay with everyone, since I would like to put these linearts up on the forum for other people to use, too! They do not have to be good quality or large images, since I am only seeking to trace them. The only thing that would be good is if they were from a rather straight-on angle, but anything at all would be great <3
:lovey:

:art: I'm also happy to accept scans/photos of any other official art from G1, G2 (especially the Playskool puzzles!), or G3 to make lineart from in the future, or take lineart requests (I'll do G4 linearts for requests, too)!

Introductions / Hi There Everyone~

Baby Moondancer says hello, too!

Hey folks~ I'm Nonny. I'm not exactly new as I was here back in 2012, but had to leave abruptly after just settling in because of unfortunate circumstances with my health. I didn't get to meet too many of you, and I'm sure the userbase has changed since then, so hello again! It's nice to meet you, whether for the first or second time, aha. I'm terrible at introductions, so feel free to ask if I leave something out you'd like to know~ I'm happy to answer questions, silly and personal both.

I'm a collector of G1 and G2 ponies at the moment, though I also have existing collections of G3 and G4 (I estimate I have around 300 ponies, but I'm terrible at math). As my health is still a mess I don't get to collect as passionately as I used to, but I still adore ponies! Merchandise is my favourite thing to collect, but I have very little, as not as much of it is released here in Canada compared to America or the UK. I'm also terrible at locating it, when it does XD.

I'm really hoping to go pony crazy after having to put my pony interest on hold for so long, and I figured this is a great place to start! I've already started unpacking all the pony related things I had to put away and re-styling all my girls so they look their very best. I'm also hoping to finally make a list of every pony I own and sort of evaluate my collection, I guess? (Any advice on where to start would be most appreciated!) I used to recognize and know the names of every pony and a decent idea of their rarity or value but after four years you start forgetting things (my health also leaves me with frequent memory issues), and I'm sure the market has changed, aha. Like, recently I read somewhere that Whitecap is sought after? I was quite surprised! And suddenly very guilty as I've had one sitting downstairs these last four years in a box of mixed vintage toys I was never even able to sort out before getting sick. Thankfully, she seems to be none the worse for the wear!

I think I'll save the rest of my pony oops stories for a time when I'm not trying to make a good impression!

Off Topic / Posting Photography Online?
« on: June 12, 2012, 08:09:45 PM »
I've really been wanting to build an online portfolio of some-sort for awhile now (And possibly eventually move to selling prints, but that's a whole other issue), but I'm super worried that if I start posting my photos online, someone is going to take them. I considered using my DeviantArt, but I figure what with it being a whole site dedicated to art and photography, it really isn't terribly 'safe' if I don't want my shots pilfered.

So, I'm curious, do any of you all have online portfolios? What precautions do you take to protect your images? Do you think they are a safe way to display your work? Really I'd love to know any of your thoughts on the subject (And also see your galleries, for sure).

Arts & Crafts Corral / Anyone want some free art? XD
« on: June 10, 2012, 03:50:09 PM »
Right now I'm bored, need something to do, and am in desperate need of drawing practice.

So, post your characters and I'll doodle them? (Please nothing overly complicated) I don't have examples, that's how long it's been since I've practiced XD . Feel free to include some notes on their personality or anything else you think might help form a picture. Just equines for now, please. Though, I might draw some other species later.

I'll do... Four doodles for now. Maybe more latter.

The Dollhouse / First Time BJD Owner - Advice Anyone?
« on: June 02, 2012, 06:14:12 PM »
Tomorrow my sister will be ordering a BJD from Dream of Doll (Anyone here deal with that site before?). Neither of us has ever had a BJD, or even seen one outside of photographs, so we don't know a thing about them, yet.

This is the doll she will be ordering.

Is there anything in particular that we should know as BJD caretakers? I'm sure like anything else there's a few does and don'ts.

All I know at the moment is not to leave him in dark-coloured clothes ^^;

If anyone knows where I might find BJD clothing patterns, that would also be a great help. Somehow my sister decided I will be sewing her doll an entire wardrobe XD.

Off Topic / Today I Got a Baby Grand Piano!
« on: June 02, 2012, 02:39:26 PM »
And I do mean baby literally, as it's a half-scale (Or a bit smaller) electric grand.

Pretty Pony has already claimed this as her new territory (And in case anyone is wondering, the flat, pastel rectangle object is my netbook).
Isn't it the cutest little thing?  :lovey:
Today was the neighbourhood yardsales, so of course I was out looking for ponies. Never did find any, but I did score this little darling for only 15 CAD! I've always wanted a grand (Not to mention I'm a keyboard nutter), and this one will actually fit in my house! XD.

It needs a lot of work (Already I've dissasembled he whole thing to clean out tons of cat hair and goodness knows what other ickies, and replaced the cord and all the bolts), but I'm madly in love with it. As soon as I can get to it, it's getting sanded down and painted the brightest, glossiest pink I can find, as the finish has been mauled by tiny little house-tigers.

Anyway, I just had to share my excitement!  :frolic:

The Dollhouse / Can I see pictures of your Torelei dolls?
« on: May 26, 2012, 06:05:57 PM »
As the title states, I'd really love to see some pictures of Torelei dolls, if you would (and of course please and thankyou kindly). Ever since I first saw her I've really wanted one, but I keep putting it off because I thought that urge would eventually fade (And my parents just don't get dolls, so I'm a bit embarrassed to buy one). The urge hasn't faded at all, and I still lust for her every time I see her.

So, I'd like to see lots of pictures of Toralei so I can hopefully finally make my decision on if I feel I need her or not. But, also I just really like looking at pictures of MH dolls, especially Toralei.

Any information you can add on how poseable or easy to handle she is would also be great, or any other interesting knowhow you have from owning her. Oh, and does anyone know how much she runs for in stores?

Sorry for so many random thoughts at once ^^;

Arts & Crafts Corral / What is Your Art Signature?
« on: May 23, 2012, 08:49:13 PM »
It occurred to me only moment ago, that as I am a new artist on the arena, I should check to make sure that nobody else was using the art signature 'Dell' before I showed up. Rather than just posting a question about it, I thought it would be a lot more interesting to start a discussion about how everyone signs their art, whether it be with a logo, a nickname, characters from another language, etc.

Personally, as previously stated, I sign my digital art 'Dell', one of my previous online handles that I've kept using on my art since 'Nonnavlis' is way to big to write on things like adoptables and avatars.
On my traditional art, I sign with the Japanese Hiragana characters De, Ru, and Pi (でるぴ. It's just nonsense).

How do you sign your art?

Pony Corral / Pink My Pretty Pony?
« on: May 22, 2012, 10:06:37 AM »
I was browsing eBay not a moment ago for My Pretty Pony, and happened upon an auction for one, MIB, that is very clearly pink (With a peachy-pink mane). I was fairly certain she only came in brown with a golden mane and a creamy, banana yellow colour with a peach mane. It certainly doesn't look like the lighting in the pictures is causing the pink body, though.

So I'm wondering, how common is a pink My Pretty Pony? Is she very rare? She's the most beautiful pony I've ever seen and I desperately desire her now (But I have no desire to own one MIB nor pay the price a MIB toy commands).

I saved the pictures from the auction, by the way, and I'd be glad to post them if that's allowed, I'm just not aware what the exact rules are for using images from eBay auctions.
