wow, this topic should also help me alot, thanks!  ^.^
I have a couple of ponies who come from second hand stores and seem to have been kept in the cellar for years, they smelled really fuzzy  I washed and cleaned them before putting them away, and thought that killed the fuzzy smell, but recently I discovered that all the closet I kept them in has been filled with the fuzzy smell that I thought has vanished with the bath I gave them  now it's time for a second try with more effective stuff

Pony Brag Arena / Re: Finally found some stuff at the thrift!

I'm glad you had luck in the end ^^ that's how thrift stores work, I know it can be disappointing not to find anything for a long time, but at least if you finally do, the happiness is much greater ^^
oh, plush Bolssom's really lovely! I didn't even know there were G1 plushies made. now I totally want one too

aren't those mice Sylvanian Families ones? I also used to have much of them back in the 80s (I still have them, keeping them for the next generation ^^ ), loved them to bits. recently they have started selling them again, but they cost pretty much  I think they were cheaper (compared to an average salary, for example) when I was a kid.

aww, how cute a bunch of ponies you have there! Surprise's hair is so bright O_O
the pics turned out really great, the grass and everything. I wish I could do outside pics already, but it's still too cold here for that (and thus we don't have much grass and green yet).

hi Megi!
I'm a newbie here too ,but I thought I should say hi!  ^.^
you have a nice collection already, congratulations on it!
Finland's such a nice place, I have been there a couple of times, and I would go back anytime I had the opportunity.

Pony Brag Arena / Re: My Collection Cupboard! Lots of Nirvana's!
« on: March 25, 2012, 02:58:21 AM »
Loona - you had Takara ponies? They are two kinds out there, fakies like my little cuties - and bigger posable kinds. The big ones are very valuable now. You should come check out the Nirvana forum here. :)
mine/ours aren't posable either, so they must be fakies. I've stumbled upon a Takara thread later yesterday, and there I realised these must be fakies of them (I have never seen originals before) - but who cares if they are so damn cute!  :P

Pony Brag Arena / Re: Antique mall finds

nice finds for a nice price too!
I love antique malls and shops that sell used things, and I also love the sellers of some. I have also encountered sweet occasions when the seller remembered I usually search for the same things and upon my arrival they greeted me by telling if they got some stuff that will interest me and where I can find them (if not even keeping them until I visit again) ^^

aww, thanks for the warm welcomes, everyone! I hope I'll fit in

Welcome Loona

I really like your avatar pic.  I never had many ponies growing up either because they were quite expensive back in the day.  Two a year was about my limit (one for birthday and one for Christmas), but I loved those ponies to pieces and looked after them really well.  I am sure you will have fun here and fit right into the pony community :frolic:
thank you ^^ she's my favourite right now, and also one of my most recent brags. I planned to make a brag topic about her (and some other new family members ^^ ), maybe I'll do it later and I will upload some better/bigger pics of her :)
same as here, usually I also got 2 ponies per year (or less, because ponies weren't my only obsession. I forgot to mention in my introduction that I also collect frogs - right from the start. I have some 500+ frog-related things  ), and not even always originals, so the herd grew slowly. but at least it made every pony even more special ^^ one of my favourites was Hair-Do Bangles (hehe, I already had an obsession for purple at the age of 8. 20 years later it's still my favourite colour besides black), and my all-time wishes included "ponies that have hairy legs", but I never got one until last year. well, at least the waiting made me even more happy ^^

Welcome. I had just a few in the 80s too. I hope to find them again one day in my parent's house!
mine are also at my father's house, and I also know which box to search for. the reason why I have them there is that right now I live in a flat I rent together with my boyfriend, so when I moved out we decided I should only take things that are absolutely necessary (luckily my father lives in the same city, so if I need something from the house ASAP it's not too difficult to get it - well, let's say it shouldn't be difficult :D ), because we never know when we will have to move again, and moving frequently with lots of stuff is just a pain. however, I really wanted to locate that box and take it with me for quite some months now, I do remember most of my ponies but I'm sure I will find some "surprises", and I would like to make a list of what I have, but recently I am just really busy (mainly because of writing my thesis and preparing for my final exams in June), so I never had the time to start searching for the box when I visited him.

Introductions / Greetings :)

Hello everyone! :)

Here's a newbie, who, after checking the Arena for quite some time finally decided to register as well. Now it's time to introduce myself
I am a 27-year-old 'girl' from Hungary, right now I am an university student (earth sciences/geology) - due to finish this June. My interests are music, nature, plants and animals (succulents when it comes to houseplants), literature, languages, paleontology, art & crafts, manga & anime, Furbies and Tamagotchis - not necessarily in this order :)

My Little Ponies were basically always part of my life (being an 1980s girl we're almost of the same age :P ). I was a huge pony fan already back in nursery days and loved to get one from time to time, but, as they were rather expensive compared to our wallets' content it was a rare happy occasion to get (or later, when I had the money of my own, to be able to buy) an original MLP. I continued buying ponies up to this day, but I don't consider myself a collector - it's just that if I find one (used, on local auction sites or second hand/charity shops) for a reasonable price I love to buy them :) I only collect G1 and G2 ponies (although I do have 2 G3s too), those are the ones I grew up with, and my eyes simply like the looks of them more :)

Loona
