Funko Rainbow Dash figure variation

I stopped in Hot Topic today and noticed something different about the eyes of the RD figures there:

(Excuse the horrid photo. It's night but I wanted to share right away.)
The one on the left is new and the one on the right is one I got when they first came out.
I know someone had mentioned the smoother finish which is true but I don't remember anyone pointing out the different eyes!
So, like Bubbles, Rainbow Dash also has a variant Funko Vinyl Collectible figure!

     I picked up the new RD and Bubbles and I wouldn't call them variants as much as the "Now we're paying attention" versions. The hair/tail paint was still bleeding and awful, and I had to sort through 4 of each before I could find some without damaged boxes or the pupils fully painted, or inside the eyes, or not bespeckeled with dirt.

     Thanks for the heads up and don't forget about the new pair next month!

I had notice that and also that the  plastic of the body is shiny ,the first run both were  not shiny at all ,kinda matte finish on the first run.

I have one too but I think I'm gonna use it on t-shirts or... something else. I just couldn't pass up new RD when I saw her because there were only 3

Oh yeah it's kinda a shame we have to scrutinize pony toys so much. One of them there had a pretty offset eye and the one I got still had some paint speck. I'm not sure if the iris is really supposed to sit that way either but they were pretty much all like that. 
I definitely won't forget Dr. Hooves and Fluttershy coming up. I'm very anxiously awaiting them.

Wow! That is a really distinctive difference - its going to make it much easier to tell the different runs apart over the years.

The newer eyes do look a lot better, but I wonder why they changed her eye lashes this time around.

It's cool to see that there are two versions of each for the first wave, now!

Aw I didn't realize the RD was changed. >.< I like the new eyes much better. I bought both Bubbles.... the collector in me wants both RD lol
