I believe Ruth Bush (former Hasbro designer who's been a guest at Pony Fair) said they were originally intended to be flocked, which is why they're called "Soft Sleepy Newborns". This feature was removed before release, but the name was kept.

I voted for perfume puffs, but really the only thing on this list I don't really love is the Dance n Prance. I don't dislike them, I just... they're ok.

I adore the perfume puffs. The hair is WONDERFUL, I like the muted yet pastel colour scheme, they smell lovely... The only thing I'm not a fan of is their price. I have half of the set, but getting Lavender Lace and Red Roses is going to take me a while solely based on their price haha. xD

SHS ponies are some of my favourite sets! I think they're beautiful

I also like the soft sleepy newborns, they're adorable.

Next come the BBEs, & not for the reason you think. The reason they're here is their sticky-up hair. Flatten you daft manes!!!

This is my one gripe with the BBEs! the baby unicorns have RIDICULOUS hair, and it can NOT be contained! which, tbh, is pretty adorable, but doesn't look neat.
Other than that I looove the BBEs. So adorable!

I belive I have all of these sets except for the soft sleepy newborns.
The perfume puffs: I agree the hair is hard to clean but I really loved making mine pretty with decor on their hair. I work the hair in sections when I clean them other than that they are all so lovely.
Sweet heart sisters: I totally adore them I like that they are the "teens" in my herd. I know some were kinda weird with lipstick ect but I got over that.
BBE: well those guys grew on me. I wasnt happy with them at first and I dont mind them now. I used to find them creepy but not anymore.
Dance N prance ponies are cool because of how cute they dance. I think they are in the powder pose so people can look at them while they dance. I dont know???

I can't figure out why it does this on this pose! I'm in the midst of rehairing a Baby Frosting and even keeping the hair longer, it still wants to stick straight up! I wish MY hair had that kind of volume.

Awww, I didn't realize Sweetheart Sisters, or the Ballerina ponies (as were brought up) were so unpopular!

I admit, I have a soft spot for both of them as they were the only G1 ponies I had growing up  To be honest, I didn't even realize my SHS was an actual My Little Pony! I had all sorts of horse and pony toys as a kid, and because she looked so different from the cartoons I just assumed she was another random pony toy!

I may be odd but I find that even if a perfume puff has knotty hair, it can still be carefully groomed out and I find it kind of rewarding xD. All of our PPs came from the carboot sale though, so they all experienced play to different degrees. Weirdly some have softer hair than others. Wonder what that's about. :/

I never had one from new so I don't know what they were like out of the box.

I have much love for the glittering SHS. And now, as I think about it, I also really like the Prom Queens. I am less keen on the wannabe SHS, who don't have earrings. Especially the Pretty Ponies. Garden Glow is cute but they're a bit...tame?

I wish Songster and Player had been pegasus ponies.

As a kid I was really keen on my baby ballerinas. I'm less obsessed about them now.

And there is another baby spider on my computer. So I'll end my post there and go rehome it on my spider plant.

My favorites are the BBE babies.  Maybe you had to be there but I wanted all of them when I saw them new in box at the store. I couldn't decide which one I wanted most.  So cute!

The others I like but I don't have a lot of experience with.  I think they're great.

They look a lot like lady baby fakies to me, when I think about it...
