That was a brain fart if I'd ever had one! Please don't take it personally, I've been fighting brain fog all afternoon and that isn't the first big goof I've made today.

I didn't see it as offensive xD I just think people tend to group Europe together but as time goes on, it's so much clearer that we had very diverse lines across different places. So yeah xD.

...I'm starting to wonder if a Discord server for throwing ideas around may help to divide and conquer. I can assist with the International timeline too, I'll work on groundwork for the PL sections shortly.

Thanks, tailrustedtealeaf! A Discord server would be an excellent idea, though I wouldn't be able to participate. We're literally on the cusp of rural internet coverage and it can barely handle YouTube some days - let alone a live chat.

If you need any photos of some of the more obscure stuff like G4 Chupa Chups, Sweetie Blue prototype, the Running Press ponies, Busy Books ponies, etc, let me know I've got a decent collection of oddities, I'd be happy to donate pics of them wherever possible.

I have some G1 merch that's not on the wiki - I can take pics if you need them! One is a blue plastic coated box with ponies from the first two years all over, and a mug that has Cherries Jubilee and purple Moondancer.

I'm not finding the images I took on my phone. Maybe I'm misremembering the year? They weren't on a black/white background anyway, so I might as well retake them. Hopefully the color difference between the two sets will be more obvious with a black background.

They don't nessecarily have to be on a black or white background - any solid color would do, really. Can't wait to see them, though!

aha, that's why I couldn't find them, I forgot the space x) I knew I'd seen them on there at some point.

The only ones missing from there AFAICT are two factory errors that got fixed partway through production: yellow-tailed Minty (who I don't have) and earth pony Glory (do have). There's enough of them out there that I think it'd be worth adding 'em?

There is the Facebook Group where you could add entries for the wiki. I know I have added a long time ago, but it never seemed to get updated. So I Think you can find a lot of stuff there that are not yet updated to the wiki

edit to add: I have a Little qirk about the "variant 1, variant 2 etc, labeling. It Always annoys me when people are labeling ponies as "Italian Butterscotch variant 3" as it is some official name for that pony, and everyone should know what that mean. I dont know of a better way to label them though to avoid this. (And I might be the only one having a problem with this as well )

The sad thing is that nothing ever really changes.

20 years ago I remember the exact same comments being levelled against Dream Valley because of the errors in the international section. And it took a very long time to do something about that as well.

The biggest problem is that most information on ID sites comes from googling other ID sites. They then seem to corroborate each other, when in reality they've copied from each other, and that gives power to the misinformation.

It leads to people's actual information being questioned, doubted, or ignored because it doesn't 'match' to the mainstream. Even if those people have the genuine research behind them.

And even though the mainstream was originally created by a US-centric website which didn't correct its errors quickly enough to stop them spreading. And 22 years on we're still cleaning up Dream Valley's mess.

Wiki is set up so that those kinds of things should be avoidable, because lots of contributers should be able to get more correct information online. But if there's a lack of urgency on correcting bad information, or the information is just not credited because other mainstream sites don't include it, it can be hard to break the barriers down.

The fact the international situation is more complex just makes it worse.
