Would anyone be interested in Pony Episode of the day?

We have Pony of the day threads and Pony Question of the day but would anyone be interested in Pony episode of the day? A discussion of one animated pony episode a day starting with G1 and hopefully going through G4? Multiple part episodes would be combined to make one thread per story line. Is anyone interested?

I'd certainly take part in the G4 ones, especially as the threads in the FiM section discussing older episodes are locked now

That is a great idea! Gives me an excuse to re-watch the episodes I would like to see G1 and G3 though as well as G4. Maybe alternate gens?

Only issue I see is episode discussion take up more time than a question or a pony. It might need more than one day.

Thank you everyone that has replied so far. Maybe a pony episode a week instead of a day? I would start with the G1 episodes and at least go through G3. I was originally thinking to go through G4 but maybe it would better to keep it G1-G3 for now. FIM could always be adddd later.

I'm actually waiting on my copy of the g1 cartoon from Amazon. I own the MLP Movie, My Little Pony Tales and have access to the g3 films and FiM via Netflix. I'd be totally down for this.

The only concern I can see is having people know what's going to be discussed so they can watch / re-watch it if they want to.

Great suggestions everyone. I do want it to be something everyone can enjoy and have fun with. I also like the idea of rotating generations and giving everyone advance notice on what the next week's episodes would be.  I am willing to include G4 also.

So would it be more fun for everyone to have the episodes in random order instead of trying to go in chronological order?

I'm not really too fussed about this as an idea, but the concern I would have is that we're going to get this forum clogged up with discussion topics on one or other animated episode, and as the threads fall away, there are going to be a lot of them. I don't come here to really discuss the animation of any generation, and so I don't really like the idea of the Corral being swamped with a lot of threads on different episodes.

FIM also has its own section for the series. I don't really see why it would need to also have threads here. If you look at the FIM board you have several discussion threads there operating at once. Obviously they will be locked and cleared but if that were to happen in the Corral it wouldn't be great in my opinion.

So if this is going to happen, I'd really like to leave FIM where it is, because FIM has space for this already. But I really think that the better option would be to expand the FIM board to include all animated episode discussion or look at it from that point of view.

A forum I used to moderate on some years back for a manga/anime franchise series had separate forums for manga chapter discussion, and anime chapter discussion, and general discussion, and character discussion. This isn't like that, but the reason they were divided in that way was so that you didn't have one of those themes overly dominating a forum.

Of course, if we're only talking about one thread which changes its title as new episodes are discussed, that's a bit different but harder to organise without a moderator.

But we already have a lot of weekly/daily threads like POTD and lately the question threads. Corral is general discussion and at this rate there's not going to be any space for general discussion because of themed threads.

So my ultimate suggestion would be - any chance of this idea getting its own sub-forum space dedicated to all the animation from all the generations where people could discuss these to death without them overloading the Corral?

TLDR: Idea is fine, place is wrong, needs its own location IMO.

I think the Corral is a reasonable place to discuss the episodes, which are as much a part of MLP as anything else.

Right now the Corral is dominated by toy threads, which I find kind of boring.  How many times can you really answer "What is your favorite pony, what is your favorite set, who was your first pony, etc."?   I love the MLP toys too, but man does the Corral get repetitive sometimes.  I'm all for MLP discussion about anything OTHER than the toys to spice it up.
