My Little Pony annuals! I'm missing a few, I really want to complete.


G1 I have 1985, 1987,1988,1989,1990,1992, 1993 and 1994.
G3 I have 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2009.
G4 I have 2014,15,16,17 (I think, I have put them somewhere safe and can't find them )


How long did the G1 annuals go on for? Were there any G2 annuals? How many G3 annuals are there? Am I right in thinking the annuals for G4 are 2014-2017?

There are seven G3 annuals:  2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009. 

Some are on Amazon.com for very reasonable prices.  Like the G3 2009 annual is there for $0.76 + $4 shipping.

I managed to snag the 1991 one on eBay earlier, and I am sure I have another G3 album somewhere, no idea where though. Next on the list is that G2 one though

what is an "annual"? Is it just a book they publish every year with stories inside?

Basically that's what it is. The G1 ones follow the pattern of story styles from the comic, and also have activities and puzzles inside. They're a UK item, and the date actually refers to the year following. For example, the annual for 1990 came out at Christmas 1989, if that makes sense The stories feature the ponies of the year before, as do the covers. For example, the 1987 one I think has flutter ponies on the front, and the 1988 one has the ice slides and Ice Crystal and Fireball and company on the front. I read that annual so much it fell apart, it was my favourite.

G1 went from 1985 (the yellow one you have undated) to 1994. There should be one for every year inbetween, I think. I can't answer for the others Mine are stored away somewhere...

Yep, they have, but I don't collect them. The OP mentioned some above.

I love the annuals! I have a few of the G1 ones I picked up, either on ebay or a bookshop in Cardiff a few years back. I would like to at least complete my collection of the G1 books.

The "85" one is actually '86.  (It was published in 1985 and people often get confused about it because there's no actual year on the cover.)  So once you get the 1991 one, your G1 set is complete.

The 2004 G3 one is really disappointing.  It's basically just two previously published G3 books and a few colouring pages. Later G3 annuals had new material in them though.
