Question for Funko Mystery Mini Collectors?
« on: December 15, 2016, 08:31:26 PM »
I've got a quick question for Collectors of the Funko Mystery Minis...

If you buy a full box set online (from PopCultcha for example) are you actually guaranteed one of each figure/the entire set? Or is there a chance of double ups?
I'm tempted to get the Power Ponies box, my partner and I bought a single each the other day and now I want them all.  :P

Does anyone know?  ^.^

For most of the boxes, there is a 1/12 chance that you can get a character, so if you buy the full boxes set you get them all, but with the power ponies I think that there is actually 24 variants, so it probably isn't likely.

I could be wrong, but on MLPmerch there are 24 variants. Anyone have confirmation on this?

Thanks LunaMoon. From what I've further seen there are only 12 figures + variants, but I won't have to worry about those since they're exclusive to certain box sets.
Fingers crossed :P

There's 18 including the variants with two versions of every major character with 6 being store exclusives (and in those cases the store exclusive version of a character replaces the standard version)

The standard ones are:

  • Filli-Second (Pinkie) in a normal pose
  • Filli-second in a more aggressive pose
  • Normal Sized Saddle Rager (Fluttershy)
  • "Bulked Out" Saddle Rager (this is the easiest one to identify from holding and shaking the box since she's significantly heavier than the other figures)
  • Mistress Marevalous (Applejack) in a normal pose
  • Mistress Marevalous in an aggressive pose
  • The Masked Matterhorn (Twilight Sparkle)
  • Radiance (Rarity)
  • Purple Hench Pony
  • Spike with his comic book (he's fairly easy to identify since he's one of the smallest figures in the set)
  • Zapp (Rainbow Dash)
  • Maneiac (this one is fairly easy to identify in box too since she takes up most of the space in the box and only rattles in one direction)

Hot Topic Exclusives:

  • Masked Matterhorn in an aggressive pose
  • Radiance with her nose upturned (the way she looks when she uses the stair case she makes to exit the cage)
  • Green Hench Pony
Wal Greens Exclusives:

  • Spike dressed as Humdrum (I really wish these two had been switched and this was the standard Spike, especially since there's no walgreens in Canada so I'd have to get him off ebay)
  • Zapp in a more aggressive pose (some might prefer this one since the standard one is a bit more silly)
  • Maneiac tied up (it's the way she looks at the end of the episode where she's wrapped up in her own mane, she's much smaller this way and a few people thought it was just her head)

So to get Humdrum I sort of have to go to walgreens and cross my fingers, huh? Bummer.
Thanks so much to Calico_Star for her beautiful work on my Avatar!

yep, or you could just buy the whole box, what i normally do is shake them, and 50% of the time i know what character I'm getting.

It doesn't always work, but Humdrum will be easy. he's probably the smallest.
