New Rarity playset? **pic heavy**

Hello everyone,

I was shopping at Toys R Us in Hamilton Ontario today and noticed a new playset. At least, I THINK it's new...has this been found before? My apologies if it has! It is a playset where you place a pony on a sliding plastic tab, and pull her through an outfit that clips onto her. It's pretty neat! It comes with Rarity, in the 'new' style, and the back of the box says its compatible with the Gala Dress Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle. I have attached some pictures to try and show what I mean, please forgive my amateur attempts to capture what the playset does! It came with three outfits too, which are pretty neat. Toys R US had the other new ponies (Lyra, Pinkie, Rarity and TS as well as the dressed up fluttershy, Rainbow dash and TS) but the playset was $34.99 Canadian, so I didn't buy the other ponies, until my wallet recovers from Christmas.

I have seen the shining armor kit, but not any of the others. It's a cute concept, but I really hate the rebranded brushables mold, it doesn't even feel like they are horses anymore.

How good was the hair quality on Rarity? In the last few years the hair quality was horrible (especially the tails)

Her hair is better than the recent pearlized brushables (at least the first wave, I haven't purchased the second wave yet). The tail isn't great, its pretty stringy and in line with the pearlized ponies.

Here's a pic of the back of the set, its decorated but nothing sticking out/no add ons.

I should also mention that the door doesn't open either way. Its a separate piece, but clips in and doesn't swing

Such a cute playset! I so want to buy it just to play with the ponies going into the fashions.

they may look like the show, but you cant just turn a 2d cartoon into a 3d toy without it having some issues. Even though the classic mold looked less like the show, I still think that it was pretty cute.

So glad to see a G4 playset with details on both sides!  I remember being so disappointed by Applejack's barn only having one nice-looking side.

I like the gimmick, I picture it being a pony version of a Magical Girl transformation, lol.

Good to see they're making some decent outfits for the regular sized brushables. Is there a spring-loaded mechanism for the platform, or do you just slide it with your finger?

It kind of sucks that they haven't shown up here yet, I'd like to get some of these while all of these sales are going on.

You slide it with your finger. It's pretty easy, and it actually works in reverse too and will take the outfit off Rarity! But not as well as it works using it the proper way haha

Oh I know that the community is quite divided on these. I'm just saying they aren't going for horselikeness so much as cartoon accuracy.

They have to be clip on to work with the gimmick.
