Pony Spa Kit?
« on: September 11, 2016, 05:02:15 PM »
I tried the search feature to be sure whether there was already a thread for this, but didn't see anything. I got a storage drawer for my pony cabinet today, and organizing got me curious - who else has a dedicated pony spa/restoration "kit"? What's in yours? I'd be interested to see if anyone has something that I forgot or hadn't thought of.

Anyway, here's my pony cabinet! I use the top to take photos:

In the right-side bottom compartment - conditioner (so far, just apple-scented); antibacterial Dawn (apple-scented and strawberry); OxiClean spray; CLR; odor eliminating powder:

In the left-side bottom compartment - acetone nail polish remover; plastic baggies; Rit dye in petal pink; cup with long tools; storage drawers with small tools:

In the cup - whitening toothpaste; toothbrushes; Cricut spatula:

In the storage drawers - rubber gloves:

Magic erasers and a nail brush:

Q-tips:

Denture cleaning tablets:

Small, clear zip ties; angled interdental brushes; nozzle brushes; Cricut scraper; craft glue; metal comb:

Washcloths (I have more than one, haha, but the other is in the laundry):

So that's what I've got for now! What do you have? I plan to eventually get a hemostat, a small tub of the OxiClean powder, and additional scents of conditioner and Dawn. I like the strawberry scent for the Sweetberry ponies, and I want to get coconut or something for all tropical-themed ponies. Debating getting some type of ocean-themed scent for nautical ponies, if I can find one that seems right, and I like the apple for everyone else, because...well...ponies!

I know that is crazy talk, since the scent from the soap and conditioner eventually fades, but what can I say? I'm a crazy person.  :nerdy:

Yep, I'm super jealous of that organisation. Mine is kinda everywhere, mostly in a tub, but if it doesn't fit it just goes wherever.

I have a shower caddy to hold most of mine. Not everything fits in it though, so it just has all the stuff specific for ponies. Things like dish soap and qtips just stay where they normally go. One day I'd like to have something like your pony cabinet though! That is pretty awesome.

What a clever idea! All my pony spa supplies are in the large top drawer in the bathroom. Nothing fancy but it works out alright. I'd love to get some proper storage and organization for it one of these days.

I have a tall slim plastic dresser/drawer with similar things.
one drawer for new arrival dirty ponies.
One drawer for clean ponies that need their hair styled
One drawer for ponies with curlers/straws waiting for boil perms. And matted hair to be boiled or steamed straight.
One drawer of fakies.
One drawer of baits/repairs
One drawer of re-hairing tools and hair
One drawer of foam curlers and elastics
One drawer of cleaning supplies : toothbrush, toothpaste, scrub brush, magic erasers, tube/bottle brushes, oxy clean tub(which has gone missing)
one drawer for hair care - shampoo conditioner and combs, round bristle brush
My pony pot and hand held steamer are supposed to sit on top, but hubby keeps stealing my pot lol.

The cup with the G1 art? It's a party tumbler that I bought on eBay! I thought it would be perfect for holding spa supplies, haha, so I'm glad to have a reason to justify buying it.

And thanks, everyone! lol. I really like having my pony stuff organized and together in one place as much as I can, especially since I currently live with my parents.  ^.^

Wow! I'm intrigued by the toothpaste and denture cleaning stuff- what do you use those for?

Wow! I'm intrigued by the toothpaste and denture cleaning stuff- what do you use those for?

Generally, whitening toothpaste is used to help with things like tail rust, but I believe some people have had results with it on the bodies as well in some cases. I got it mainly for tail rust.

The denture cleaning tablets are for popping inside pony bodies, then filling with warm (iirc) water - should give them a nice clean inside and loosen any gunk that may have been otherwise more difficult to get to. I haven't used any yet, but plan to use them as the initial inside cleaning treatment, followed by more "labor-intensive" things afterwards, if still needed (scrubbing and such).
