Are there any ponies that your head cannon envisions as a different type?

In mine baby tic tac toe has twinkle eyes.
Mountain boy Ice Crystal is a unicorn. The others are pegasi.
Baby ribs is a pegasi.

What are yours?

When I was a kid, all my ponies had invisible alicorn powers. That is, Earth ponies had invisible wings and horns, unicorns and pegasi had the attribute they lacked. For some games, anyway.

I just wanted the best for everyone, I guess.

In my head canon, the Mountain Boys are all unicorns.  Lightning has the power of electricity and can magnetize magnetic materials.  Fireball has fire magic.  Ice Crystal has ice magic.  Tornado has wind magic.  Thundercloud is their leader and can manipulate water to make it change phase.  Sunburst is the odd one of the group as his magic is healing, and he is a physician and surgeon.

It's not exactly the same thing, but when I was a kid I got the ponies' symbols and the Care Bear stare confused.  All my ponies had magical powers that shot out of their butts.

This is slightly related: I'm in two minds about whether or not to make Majesty an alicorn or not, if I use her in my project (and I would like to use her at some point).
I will confess to being a brony, but I assure you that the things you may not like about them do not apply to me, I mostly keep the fandom name due to nostaligia, but I do genuinely love MLP as a whole, not just FIM, and not just the popularity of FIM - I genuinely love the show (and all the others)

That's adorable

As for type, no mine are all as they are in G1 mainly cos I really like having g1 models that I can use in diorama. However I give some of my G1s G4 attributes because the characters are generally better developed, and the other thing I change is pony groups and families.

I mean the common modern pop culture concencus is that unicorns fart rainbows and lilacs and magic, so I think perhaps you weren't the only one.  (Although perhaps you meant that the magical powers shot directly out of their cutie marks and not...you know.) Was their magic related to their symbol? That's pretty cute.

So much of modern unicorn pop culture comes, unconciously I think,  from a general foggy cultural awareness of My Little Pony. Did historical unicorns have much at all to do with rainbows and frolicking? Not so much. More with getting caught by virgins and having their horns used as poison antidotes, with the occasional job on a crest or as a religious symbol. But I'm getting off track...

All my ponies also had the power to raise the dead by kissing them. (My ponies died a lot, lots of epic adventures.) I blame that one scene at the end of The Last Unicorn where the unicorn brings Prince Lir back to life. That movie got absorbed into my consciousness at a formative time.
