Any fix for a darkened body?
« on: July 24, 2016, 10:33:22 AM »
Hi,

I've bought several ponies on shopgoodwill who's bodies having become very darkened.  I cured their tail rust and scrubbed them, but they still seem dull.  For example I have a tux and tails in good condition. He is so bright blue!  His shop goodwill counterpart has great soft hair but his body is dull and dark(had terrible tail rust but I scrubbed him out thoroughly).  Is there anything that can help this?  I don't want to ruin his hair--it's in great condition.

Thanks!

I'm going to guess you are dealing with heat damage. The only "fix" I know of is using 3% H2O2. but the caveat is, it does dry hair and can lighten colours and some pigments, you would also be altering the pony from original (devaluing is a strong possibility). Some people had brown patches return later. We don't know if it causes unforeseen long term damage yet. Do you have some clear photographs for reference?
