After Trump's controversial speech from the first night of the Republican National Convention that has some accusing the Trump campaign of plagiarizing passages from a speech by first lady Michelle Obama in 2008, Republican National Convention chief strategist Sean Spicer said the lines being discussed are common phrases.

"Melania Trump said, 'the strength of your dreams and willingness to work for them.' Twilight Sparkle from 'My Little Pony' said, 'This is your dream. Anything you can do in your dreams, you can do now,' " Spicer said.


I want to know how he's so familiar with Twiloght Sparkle! Sean Spicer are you here??! haha

It's kind of sad that "Senior Official of Major Political Party Quotes Cartoon Horse Princess to Defend Candidate's Wife" doesn't register too high on the crazy scale for this election.

Future generations can look back at this and laugh. We, on the other hand, will probably bring up any combination of depression, anger, or malaise.

When I first heard about this I thought it was joke someone and couldn't believe Spicer had actually mentioned MLP.   :lmao: :lmao:   I was really surprised to find out it was real and find it hilarious that they would cite MLP as a source for her speech. I was also wondering how they knew Twilight Sparkle had said that and if I remember the episode the quote is from correctly (Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep?) they took the line out of context.
