Pokémon Go! Lapras and Articuno

I got the holiday Pikachu on Saturday and I'm a few candies away from evolving it into a Raichu. I'm not sure if it was coincidence or what, but there were about 5 of them that spawned all at once whenever I was near a Starbucks pokestop.

No holiday Pikachu's for me. All of these months later I'm still yet to run into a Pikachu at all. =/

I just made a count and I'm actually only missing a few more pokemon to complete my list (not counting the exclusives and the new egg babies)!
Still missing: Omastar, Gyarados, Onix, Machamp, Alacazam (9 candies away on this one)

Snapdragon- Congratulations on getting Ditto! I have flat out refuse to catch anymore Pidgeys and Ratatas since I got mine. Hope you get the Santa Pika soon. He should show up more often then the regular one.

What's really wild is, I was bored sitting in a line, so I caught a random pidgey who was hanging out - I got ANOTHER Ditto! :O It took me weeks to get the first one, then a week later I catch a second?? >_> I wonder if it has anything to do with updating my phone to the latest version!

I found Santa Pika ONCE more during all of my last-minute shopping and errands, and when I clicked on him, a red banner flashed at the top of my screen - ERROR - and he transformed into a Pidgey!! What gives?! And I haven't seen one since! I'm starting to fear I may never get one before he vanishes! How long are they available, until the 29th?

(Your guess about Starbucks might be right, Rainbowrific Renia; the only one I saw on my radar popped up next to a Starbucks!)

The Christmas/New Year event is legit.

One free 1-time-use incubator a day from December 25th until January 3rd at Pokestops.
Increased chance of running into the 3 starters and their evolutions.
Lures will last an hour instead of 30 minutes.
Santa Pikachu/Raichu will be sticking around longer.

I was hoping for another 2x XP event but I'm okay with this. Also, my husband finally started playing Pokémon Go because he got a new phone. I can't wait until the weather is nice and we can go walking again! He works in the city though, so he's kinda lucky in that way.

So weird, one of the first pokemon I caught was a ditto, I didn't think it was anything special.   I'm going to be visiting family in the city this weekend, hoping to have a few minutes to go walking. I live in an area so rural that I don't see any out here.

The event with the starters is tomorrow, right? We went to my aunts today, and my brother was like, "oh there's a Venusaur here". it feels so meaningless since they're going to be common soon (and I already evolved one), but it was still crazy.

Otherwise, I haven't played at all in the past few weeks. Started to GPS abuse at work again yesterday, and already have a handful of Santachus. Need one more to get Raichu with the hat. Otherwise, still missing Kabutops, Dodrio, and Lickitung (I'm not after the babies). I wish we got the buddy candy event, but I guess incubators are equally nice.

I'm a dork. I thought the Christmas event started today. I hit 4 or 5 Poke Stops today trying to get an incubator with no luck. Oh, well. I'll try again tomorrow.
