My reaction when I picked up green tea pokey for my sister. I cant have gluten either. But I survive. You find alternatives and some of the stuff I can bake overwrites some stuff you buy ive had an ok day. A lot of having to be an adult. But the day is over and I just quickly went to check things before heading to rest
gluten free kit kat bars why are they not a thing -sob- my sister is being an evil butt and munching away on kit kat bars and making obscene noises cause she knows I can't have them. or the twix bars she has in the freezer in other news: how's your guy's day going?

My favorite thing in the world is (okay used to be) ice cream- and specifically this local "Molly Moon" ice cream- but if I ate even a couple of bites, I would be nauseous and absolutely sick for days. Just isn't worth it. But my family just came up to visit and they all got double scoops...I ate some sorbet. It really isn't the same. BUT - you can try making your own kit kats? http://glutenfreeonashoestring.com/homemade-gluten-free-kit-kats/

My point being that if she's your 100% sister (is that that how you say it? As in you both have the exact same parents and not half sister or adoptive) she probably can't have it eitherBut in my case it's more a matter of paranoia; I was diagnosed when I was 10 and there weren't very many options then (I could only have home made candy until I was about 16) and I was accidentally exposed for several months when I went to this one restaurant I thought was safe that actually wasn't several years ago, so I tend to worry about that happening again since the damage would be permanent And there are a lot of things that can have gluten that you wouldn't expect like candy, toothpaste, fruit juice, cottage cheese, and wallpaper paste (you can breathe it in when wall papering), plus the risk of cross-contamination. Though there aren't very many things I eat to begin with and I've managed to find safe versions of more or less everything I like at this point. At this point I'm more or less used to people eating things in front of me, but the one that really ticks me off is when people ask if they can try my gluten free things, especially if we're out (since I usually bring only what I need, plus I'm hypoglycemic) or if we're at my house and they want to try part of my meal (My parents and I generally each do our own cooking so when I cook it's always exactly the right amount for me)

Mom insists that its 'all in my head' even though i've been sick as a kid wen ever i ate something.

Mom insists that its 'all in my head' even though i've been sick as a kid wen ever i ate something.Oh I assumed you had Celiac! Celiac disease is actually really serious- and you may not have many outward symptoms. https://celiac.org/celiac-disease/what-is-celiac-disease/ If you think you might have issues with consider asking your doc for the celiac disease blood test.
The blood test is dodgy though and you can easily get a false negative.I was told by my GI tract specialist to go gluten free even though my tests were negative and it has helped. He thinks I have a sensitivity to it but not the full on celiac. That said I still have to be super careful. I can relate to cooking my own things or getting my own safe foods. That stuff is expensive! If im sharing you are only getting a little bit.
