baby cotton candy with blue hair : with Pics now ;o))

Hi guys,

maybe some of you have seen it  but this week on french ebay was sold a HK baby cotton candy with blue hair.

does someone here know more about her? Do other examples exist??

I've heard of french CC adult with blue hair (unless I'm thinking of reverse Bow Tie?), but not a baby.  Did you save any pics?

Oh my...she's darling! The little girl who had her sure love to braid.  I do wonder if more exist but it said prototype in the listing so she might be OOAK. I'm curious to know more about her though.

I recall sometime ago that same Baby Cotton Cany popped up, blue hair, braids and all. I cannot find the thread about her though

I do have a feeling she is a rehair, but without opening her up you can't really tell.

ok , I tell now the truth  I am the final owner of this baby. I was sooo suprised to see it and also I admit soo curious to know it and see it for real! I have finally received it today.

and well here are my very first observations:

- the head is sealed  and well sealed I mean it looks like never open, like new.

-  I have a  normal baby HK CC and put her together and their body colors are different!
I mean my normal one is a pink shade and the version with blue hair is in a peachy shade. A real peachy shade not something like we see with discoloration.

Beware: I am not saying at the moment she is real or something like that. I am just sharing my first observation ;o)

I bring her to the spa, because I do not want to keep her with her braids even she is cute with them lol and she was a bit dirty.  I will make some pics as soon as she is ready.

To be fully honest, at the moment I do not feel like opening her for 2 reasons:

1) the head is really fixed like my normal one, with no glue mark or some marks she has been opened and I am soo afraid to destroy her  she is too cute
2) on the french MLP collection arena, they also talked about this baby. And it appears that one of our greatest french collector has also a baby CC with blue hair. And she agreed she is a variant. At the moment only one like this was found. So now maybe 2 babies 
I will post on the french Arena and ask for some pics of her baby if possible to compare with mine.

not at the moment , that's why I have asked this morning on the french arena and I do hope the other collector would post some pics! Oh yes I am super interested to make some comparison!!

I have searched and searched and I just cannot find the thread From memory the baby was on eBay and the auction either ended or was pulled and no more was heard about it. It was a number of years ago and my memory might not be correct.

Does she have a forelock?

I'd like to see closer pictures of her mane.  To me some of the hair plugs look a little "overfilled" to be original.  But it's just so hard to tell without seeing the inside of her head.  I can totally understand why you don't want to break the glue seal, though!

Is her tail firmly in place?  If you, er, squeeze around her bum (ha ha, sounds so awful) can you feel the round metal washer inside?

The reason I ask is that it is possible to rehair a G1 without removing the head.  (You cut the hair down really close, pull it out with tweezers, and then use a rehairing tool to press hair straight into the hair plug holes.)  It's also possible to add a tail without removing the head--just press the metal clasp in through the tail hole and then kind of tug one side of the tail so the metal clasp is "sideways", preventing it from falling out the first time it's brushed.  BUT I do not think it would be possible to add a new tail and have the washer ON the tail unless the head had been taken off.

I hope she is a true variant! I'd be curious if the other blue-haired BCC is also a peach color. Hard to tell from photos, probably, unless they were pictured side by side.

I really wonder about some of these one of a kind variants! It makes me curious if there are any extinct variants collectors never knew about because they were never widely released and information sharing in the 80s was so much more limited than it is today so there wasn't any awareness.
