How did G3 scented ponies work?
« on: May 22, 2016, 01:27:17 PM »
Examining my I-swear-I'm-gonna-do-it-eventually For Sale ponies for flaws.

I'm noticed what I thought was a shiny neck-glue smear on Party Cake, but it turns out Pretty Pop has it too in almost the exact same shape. It's subtle, shiny, starts small on the pony's back, and kind of widens as it goes, like a loud sound wave, stopping above pony's shoulder.

Is this where they applied the scent, do you think? It is where they smells strongest.
I'll put something here some time

I've only got one G3 Scented pony, Pretty Pop. And Mine does not smell of anything anymore, but neither can I see this... smear on her. So maybe your theory is right and that is also the reason my Pretty Pop doesnt smell anymore... Very interesting

I'll have to check my scented ponies, but maybe it's something to do with the glue almost 'trapping' the scent in? As an example, with my ponies that I have with me everyday, all except sweet sparkle have noticeable wear to their symbols. Is is probably because of the glue and glitter over the symbol. Maybe this could be the same as the scent, being protected by the glue?

We have two sunny scents. Tropical Freeze doesn't smell, Tangerine does, but neither have the glue smear

I think that may have something to do with it. I remember when I washed mine they lost most of their scent. I can only hope that putting everybody in baggies has brought the scent back but I am not so sure.

I have a few scented G3s, all of whom have their scents: Strawberry Surprise, Lavender Lake, Apple Spice, & Pretty Pop.

I don't recall seeing any glue smears are them but I'll have to check after seeing this thread.

I've seen this too - but I've also seen it on a few G1's who weren't scented, so who knows!?

I just checked my G3 Party Cake. She has the shiny smear and still smells like birthday cake.
