Sparkle Baby Firefly ; "safe" to bait?
« on: May 20, 2016, 01:52:39 PM »
I found a G1 pony at a yard sale today; Sparkle Baby Firefly! :newpony: She's my second-ever G1 "wild" pony find!

Anyway... Her body and symbol are in really nice shape, but her hair is very frizzy and her eyes are pretty scuffed up. So I was thinking about rehairing her (probably in an alternate color) and repainting her eyes.

Is she okay to "bait"? I did look her up and she doesn't seem to go for more than $5 when in great shape. I know it's ultimately "my pony, my choice", but I just want to double-check that she's not sought-after or valuable before I do anything with her.

Id say you're fine to do it! :) I think baby North Star with vibrant pink hair would be the most expensive out of the four!

Those ponies usually have frizzy hair, so if you do want one with original hair, keep in mind that you may never find one that doesn't have really frizzy hair. Otherwise, while she's not extremely common, she's not considered rare, either, so you should be fine re-hairing her.

None of ours are frizzy o.o. I guess we got lucky?

She wasn't sold in the UK or Europe, but even when someone has one to sell or trade over here they never go for very much, so I guess they're really common o.o. It sounds like a good project for a reroot.

Baby Firefly? Or the whole sparkle baby set? Neither my childhood Starflower or my current Gusty are frizzy haired.

My Baby Sparkle Firefly has a short tail and a mohawk that someone must have given her at one point. The hair seems a little frizzy on mine, but that may be due to the cut. Oops I just realized I have Baby Starflower not Baby Firefly.

:checks mine: Gusty is getting her tail rust fixed but none of mine have frizzy hair either..but that's good to know!

I surprisingly ended up with three Fireflys here recently- two rehairs. I would keep them both, but I'm not really a super fan of rehairs, plus whoever did them was a little sloppy with the knife.. The worse of the two is for trade. >_< I heard they were a little tough to work with..?
