Some MOC Peru ponies have those Rose Petal Place combs as well. On the topic of Peru & licensing... the ponies from Peru were made in the BASA factories, but carded by a different company called Maxy. Apparently BASA had licensing with Mattel and Mattel threatened to pull their licensing if BASA produced toys for competing companies, specifically Hasbro. So Hasbro made a licensing deal with a smaller toy company, Maxy. Maxy then subcontracted the production of the ponies to the BASA factories. That's a bit off topic from the original discussion of the Italian companies, but it is an example of hoops that were jumped through to maintain licensing rights from large American toy companies in the 80's.
