I finally managed to get all the Vivillons but I can always get some of the Continental Pattern (as thats my native form) for people who are still looking for that particular pattern!

no, any you breed on your game will be the native form to your game regardless of its parents pattern.

as an example if I bred from a sun pattern it would still only get River pattern as the offspring

I can get High Plains Pattern.  I just evolved him last night and was wondering how to get the others and then this popped up.    

I'll have to wait until I get home tonight to get my FC info but I wanted to post on here so I didn't have to search for it later.

The only vivillion I'm missing is the French pokeball one! I remember it being avalible here for a limited time but totally missed it because I swore I had one already xD

Edit: I have the Modern pattern one, the most popular one. Not all of Texas is plains! x3 I'm mostly forest and fields.

 I'm surprised out in the Florida Keys that they don't have the Ocean pattern! When I was in Florida last year I we tried to get an ocean pattern, but I think they all have Modern as well.

I have tried this many times, I think the answer is no. It depends where the Scatterbug is from in the real world. It has to be hatched or captured from that players region, eggs don't count.

Example if I receive an already hatched scatterbug from Hawaii from a trade, it would evolve into and the Ocean one.

Also I can't breed two Oceans in my location (Modern) and get an Ocean wing variant offspring, it would evolve into Modern since my area is modern.

IIRC I have gotten a scatterbug in wonder trade that evolved into a purple vivillion. You can change the setting in your 3DS location, but you would have to restart your save file in Pokemon. GMS is your best bet! I got almost all of mine from there.

I gave up trying to collect them all after lots of GTS experiences of dishonest people sending me something I didn't ask for because they could...I do have a bunch of extras though. I think the native pokemon to my game is green, is it Garden? (UK), but I have some doubles in Y. My game is at home though and I won't be able to get at it for a while.

I also have two pokeball Vivillions (I don't think they're French as I got them on my games here?) and I would trade one, but I would have to be shiny bribed to do that, because I think they're cute xD.

Does anyone else just find it easier to catch Spewpas from berry bushes or Scatterbugs from there forest? That's what I do instead of breeding.

I checked my game and I just need Ocean and Icy Snow. I also have an extra Elegant (Japanese name) and and extra Savannah (no name).

fully evolved is prefered but  Sewpa and Scatterbugs are accepted providing that they are ones you bred / caught on your game .  *(you must be the original trainer to ensure they evolve into the right form)
