Restoration
« on: April 20, 2016, 09:57:00 AM »
HI,

I'm not sure where to post this, but I thought people in this forum might have good restoration skills.

I am looking for info on how to clean ponies when they still have factory curl--I don't want to soak them and I do want to reduce the slight frizz on the factory curl.

Also, I have a pony carrying case with black mold on the inner plastic.  How can I safely clean this?

Thanks so much!

There's a great tutorial for conditioning hair and keeping factory curl here:
http://www.mlppreservationproject.com/hair.html#Curls

Just use cool water for cleaning the rest of the pony and you shouldn't do much damage at all to their hairstyles.  :)

White vinegar is good for killing mold without damaging most materials, just spray some onto the case and let it sit for around an hour and then wipe it off. I've used it on dozens of ponies/accessories with no side effects except for the ponies smelling like chips for a few days

Hopefully these methods will help me out too, I have a first issue G3 minty with horrific frizzy hair and tinsel...I've already done some boiling but no big difference, might have to try the iron. I don't know what they used for this hair but it's awful...
