Experience making pony wear?
« on: April 17, 2016, 12:01:31 AM »
I have this overwhelming urge to make patterns for pony wear this summer and little accessories for them. It might be because I'm always making such things for Nevada. Has anyone had some successful patterns and such? Share!

Hello there!

I've made a ton of clothing for ponies in the last months (As you can see here!) - most of them for G4(with some G3s and a G2s, with no G1s so far, because I don't have a G1 pony yet :( ), but most of them are easily scalable for different generations!

If any of these interest you, I'm more than willing to share my patterns/how to make them!

There is also this tutorial by Alipes

I hope this helps you!
Have a wonderful day,
Mel

I was thinking that DressesForBrushables could help, glad to see they already found the thread!

I myself love making ponywear patterns using tissue paper. It works like this: drape it over the pony and it's curves, draw the pieces on it and test, adjust and make the final piece.

Oh wow the dresses you have made are beautiful! Some of them fit what I'm trying as my first one is a saddle with a sort of skirt attachment. Mine are all  G1 though. I've been using fabric square fabric, like the cheap remnants to make patterns so far. I'm terrible with tissue paper and easily destroy able stuff. I always end up ripping it. -_-

Thank you!
If you're having troubles using tissue paper, an alternative to it is really cheap felt, which is less likely to rip and good for experiments.
If you'd like, I could make a dress like that for a G3 (most G1 I've seen so far should be in the same size range as G3s, but I might be wrong), and post the pattern here, and you can make what ever adjustments you'd like to it?

First of all: Sorry for the bad picture quality, my normal camera is broken, so I have use my smart-phone camera.

I used a G3 (don't ask me which one) and made a quick test saddle - I cut the fabric a bit too short, and now it looks really weird....

Was this the kind of thing you wanted? If yes, then I can make you a tutorial on how to make it. If not, I'll try again^^

Have a wonderful day,
Mel
