Etsy Block?
« on: April 09, 2016, 02:37:53 PM »
Is there a method to blocking users on Etsy from purchasing from your shop? I've looked around and don't see one readily although there is a Cancel Because I Don't Sell To This Person section.

I had a late night buyer that I shipped out this morning Priority (because I want Tracking and don't trust people anymore) so I'm rather sure that even if they don't manage to intercept it before it leaves the state that it should make it back to me okay. They sent eight messages asking for an immediate refund with poor grammar even while I was in the process of figuring out how to do so. I always respond promptly to messaging if at all possible and I think they read my "I'm trying to figure out what to do" as a "No, leave me alone". I want to Block them just for the sheer number of annoyance messages I received.
Creatively cute and proud of it!  Have a very good day, [you]!  ^.^

I'm making custom cute pony plushies and have set up an Etsy store called Ponies A'More! Ponies + More + LOVE! :inlove:
Finally got my SALES thread up and update it as I can.  :satisfied:
Lastly, posting my Wishlist here!

I dont believe you can block a buyer on etsy unfortunately. You can refuse to go ahead with a sale for pretty much any reason whatsoever but you cant stop someone from making the initial purchase. I am not sure of the logic behind it being this way to be honest - ebay obviously let you block people but they also hold you to a sale as though its a contract. I would guess its to do with the philosophy of each site - one having a commercial head on and the other perhaps trying to be a bit less so.

I'm glad you have made this thread because I was wondering the same thing.

I wonder if it is the same buyer as I've been having a very similar problem with a buyer on etsy. She's opened a dispute against me with PayPal asking for a refund after I had shipped the item.

I googled a bit, but the consensus seems to be that you can't block buyers on Etsy. :(

I asked Etsy directly not too long ago, and no, you can't block buyers or opt to block certain sellers from showing up in your searches.

BTW, you can track First Class packages if you are shipping within the United States.  It's actually automatically included with First Class now.  Just thought I'd mention.  Although maybe it was an international buyer?
