The Groom a Pony a Day Challenge
« on: April 09, 2016, 12:26:28 PM »
I don't know about you, but I've been slipping when it comes to keeping my herd in check. Baths and dustings are needed all around, as is re-curling.

Anyone interested in a challenge where the goal is to groom a pony a day? I think it might be a helpful motivator.

This sounds like an awesome idea! I must admit I was planning to curl 6 ponies' hair today and only did one

I like the sound of this - I have a bunch of fakies that need to be cleaned up, and some rehairs I've been meaning to do for ages!

I need a maid to come dust my collection off because I'm simply too lazy. Heck, even when I sell on eBay I'm too lazy to clean them so I just sell them as is. Epicly lazy I am.

Hey, one a day isn't bad! At that rate, you'll have them all done by next week!

Sounds like you're in! hehe

Well, then this challenge is perfect for you!

It does sound like a good challenge... Alas I tend to fail any "do X daily" challenge

I just did a cleaning on six ponies I picked up last weekend (still need to post pics of my flea market scores). I never usually have a problem with cleaning but taking pictures, now that's a different story. I have some back issues and my light box is kind of short so bending over taking good pictures of 32 ponies all at once is a real strain.    :yikes:

I've got 20-30 flea market finds that have been piling up that I really need to work on.  Sounds like a good idea to me!

Ooh, do people post photos of their clean ponies in this thread?Perhaps committing to one a day may seem daunting to some, so they might not even start. May I propose clean a pony a week, since some days have more stressful life stuff going on then others. But I think posting before and after pics here would be motivational and I love to see others!

If you feel extra motivated, there's nothing wrong with pony a day. I just want to see some clean plastic horses!

Sure, people are welcome to post photos. I did not take before photos yesterday, but I'll snap an after photo. These three were pretty clean...just needed to get some surface dirt off.

Speaking of which - what does everyone use for cleaning dirt when soap doesn't cut it? I typically use acetone and then rinse with soap and water. However, I cleaned Glory this way this morning and it took forever. Does anyone have a better solution? I forget....do Magic Erasers damage symbols? It would definitely cover more surface area than the q-tips I've been using.

ETA: I keep getting a fatal error with TapaTalk and can't upload photos....

I've been working on fixing up the ponies in my herd in need of cleaning or restoration, but at the moment I'm stuck at a whole lot of ponies that need sunfading and rehairing. XD I'm working on it though!

Alas...I dont regroom :) Once a pony is pretty and styled she stays that way no rewashing; saves me worrying about frizzing out hair over time.

However...dust a pony a day...that I could get on board with. I would have to combine mine as I am only home 1 week in about 4 right now :( But I could do 4 ponies a day or something to make up for it lol.

The site doesnt support Tapatalk and we have it disabled - so you will only have minimal options with it and it will be patchy.

Magic Eraser can damage eyes, symbols and blush... I usually try Oxi Clean when soap won't take the dirt off, it works reasonably well ^^ but Oxi Clean is a problem when it comes to glitter symbols so it's not for every pony...

I have so many to sell! I*should* do this. But I can never commit to things like this.
