Wwwwaaaahhhhh!!!!!
« on: April 06, 2016, 04:01:05 PM »
Help!! My naughty two year old took a washable red marker and colored on some of my ponies!!!  I got most of it off but now my Princesses Misty, Pristina, and Amethyst all have red stains where the marker was!  I used a baby wipe initially, then soap and water, and also tried a magic eraser.  Are they permanently marked?  Anything else I could try?  Haven't felt this bad since my other daughter gave some a hair cut!  Thanks!!

Yikes! You could maybe try acetone? Just not over any painted areas (symbols/eyes/etc). Good luck!

I second acetone.  Just don't let it touch the symbols either.

If that doesn't work, it's on to sunfading, but cover up anything you don't want to fade!

That is devastating... I would carefully use some nail polish remover!  :) Good luck!! I hope you can fix them! On white ones, you can safely use some acne cream and sun fade.

You might try Lysol antibacterial kitchen cleaner.  (Comes in a purple bottle.)  When I taught kindergarten, it removed a lot of marker types, and I always cleaned my ponies with it.  It's gentle and works well on many types of marks and will not damage symbols.  Worth a try anyway!

I would sunfade. Red is the fast color to fade away

Wow- that's amazing that it's holding on that tightly when it's only a day old!

Which reminds me... did I lock the pony room door before I left my son and husband home alone today?
Thanks so much to Calico_Star for her beautiful work on my Avatar!

Oh no! :( I really hope you can get them off, even if it takes sunfading to do it.

Thanks all for the advice!  The acetone did a pretty good job.  I too was surprised at how fast the ink set, but with some scrubbing most of it came out.  The marks are very faint, you really have to look hard to see them.  I may have to work harder on Princess Sparkle/Amethyst since her light purple color still shows it the most.  The color on Princess Misty was difficult just because it was all on her face!  Gotta watch the little ones closer when they are in the pony room!!
