Oh Rarity...

I was given a pony by my Mother-in-law, who loves finding ponies for me! While her previous finds have included G1's and G3's, alas, this time it was another ribbon-mane Rarity. My other ribbon ponies are MIB, I have NO CLUE what to do with that darn ribbon. eek.

I am determined however, that as a gift, I WILL make room for her! I have decided that she will be my new travel companion. Her hair was a hot mess, so I've straightened it and smoothed it out, and braided and trimmed her tail. Her mane however, is a mystery to me. What can I do with that massive ribbon in her mane?! I'm not re-hairing her, I want her to be recognizable as the pony she once was. I need inspiration. I need pictures. I need... the arena!

So pretty, pretty please, if you've made one of these ribbon-inflicted ponies a cool do, PLEASE share, I'm just.. lost at what to do with the infernal thing!

I don't have pics, but maybe someone else does: I've seen people take apart the ribbon's horizontal strands and comb it out, so it's vertical strands that resemble pony hair, but with the pattern intact! It's a really nice look!

Only ribbon pony I have is Applejack, though I left her MOC. Was thinking about tying that ribbon around her neck like a scarf if I ever take her off the card.

I have the ribbon Nurse Redheart. I wrapped the ribbon around her hair to make a ponytail. I finally have a good, working digital camera (on my dad's tablet), so I can grab a pic later if anyone wants to see.

Thanks guys, I'm getting a bit more inspired to make her pretty... I just need to do something with her hair, so she doesn't get 'handbag hair' when I take her places!

Okay, I've figured out her style, did it up, let it set, and this morning we went down to the park for a photo shoot. I was testing out a new camera too, but it was pretty average, so I played around with my phone. Here we go!

And then we went home, tired from our long walk around the park.

I removed her weird heart-scanner thingy, they're so ridiculous; and styled and trimmed her hair as she was a matted mess when she was given to me. I can't wait to show my mother-in-law how nice she turned out!

I used the Line Camera app on my phone for some of the photos. It adds filters in camera, so you can take the picture with the filter, which makes the quality better, as you aren't editing later, and you can see the result before you take the picture, too. The light was pretty harsh today, so Rarity was just a glaring white blob on my point-and-shoot camera that I was testing. I was tempted to go back down with my DSLR, but I didn't really want to walk back up the hill again with the heavy lenses, it's really steep!

Wow, those are beautiful shots! And your hairstyle looks great! So much better than what I did. I was just copying the style they come in when you buy them new, but of course the ribbon won't go that severe when the Pony is loose. I did finally take a picture and finally upload it, though:
