My straighteners are not particularly high end...so unfortunately I think that's why they don't go low enough in temperature. So I have to keep switching them off and then back on for a few seconds before using them. I also learned to only use them on a few strands at a time. Needless to say it's very time consuming and tedious. But I realised with hindsight that the worst pony I had ever worked on was so bad because someone had already tried flat irons on her with the temperature too hot. I am quite proud of myself that I managed to rescue her.
