What happened to G4 Twist's hair? o.0

So I just opened the G4 CMC School Friends collection to admire Silver Spoon and Twist... but what the heck is going on with Twist's hair? o.0

It's not something that photographs well, but it's like her mane is a shiny burnt orange color and her tail is a matte neon orange color. The difference is really quite glaring! They don't look alike at all.

Is it just my Twist or is this some factory decision?

Mine is also like that! I have the prototype too, and it's not like that! When i ordered this set and pulled out Twist i was shocked as well- because of that not the fact I got blue apples LOL!

I recently saw this set at ROSS! Those who need one check your stores!!!

Whoa I didn't even know it was sold in stores! I thought it was an online-only thing, since there's no plastic 'display window' to see the ponies. Just a closed box with a picture on each side.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who got a Twist with these two different types of hair. But the prototype wasn't like that, huh? :\ Maybe it was just a bad batch that got the mis-matched mane and tail. I wish if they ran out of one type of hair they would have at least made sure that the toys all got the same type for both mane and tail when they switched to the new type...

How about anyone else? Does your Twist have shiny or matte mane and tail? And did yours come from the set, or from a China prototype?

(PS: I didn't even check my accessories in the box. I wonder if I got blue apples as well )

I've gotten 2 sets and, yes, both had the mismatch. There was discussion about this when they first started arriving and they are all like that as far as I know. I didn't know there were Protos that were matched though! How strange. This was def. a production error.

Assuming I'm looking at the right pony, the Amazon photo for this set has two shades of hair as well, if you look at it carefully you can see the mismatching...

Yeah, I remember the discussion about this when she was first released - AFAIK they were all mismatching. (Does Silver Spoon have mismatched hair/tail colours too, or am I misremembering? I can't check mine atm)

No, it's the CMC & Friends brushable set. I think it was a store exclusive in the US? I got mine online (they were never released over here) so I have no idea. -shrug-

Interesting. I'll have to dig mine out of storage and check, I haven't even opened the box yet. I might have a loose china one too, can't remember. off to go see if I can find them in all my boxes!

Edit- my boxed one has mismatched mane and tail and I can't find the loose one.

Okay, I checked mine and she has the mismatch as well.  Also her tail feels like it's lower quality than her mane.  What the heck, Hasbro.

This sounds like a case that Hasbro is using a different type of hair for the tails maybe? I don't know when they started doing so but that is the only explanation I can think of

This is one reason I've stopped collecting G4s, because a lot of the newer releases I've seen have this issue  It was really disappointing when I finally bought Nurse Redheart, who I was so excited for, had the tail/mane mismatch. At first  I thought it was just the one, as she was the only one at the Walgreens, but when I saw a whole display a few weeks later, I saw that every single one had this problem. What the heck, Hasbro is right. Why is this a frickity frackin' issue?

o.0 Oh NO now I must check my nurse when I get home! I didn't notice anything when I de-carded her, but I have low level of light in my bedroom so sometimes I miss things like that.

Yeah, it's subtle in low light, but when I was looking at her in a well lit, sunny room, I noticed it. I will say, her's is a easy to miss, as the difference is just a couple shades off. But once you notice it... -____-" I styled her hair in a bun with fringe so the difference is not -so- obvious
