Would opening commissions on the Arena be worth it?

Would anyone her eon the arena be interested in commissions from me? I have a baby on the way and my family is already struggling to make ends meet as it is. We also just moved so we don't really know anyone who would be able to help us out.

It means I need to push myself to get some art going. At least mlp is pretty natural for me to draw as I've been doing it so long, but honestly, I don't get much interest for art here on the arena as I do on my Deviant art page.

What I may do is schedule live streams where I can draw you your picture in front of you and everything is done in real time from money exchanges via paypal to the art in question.

I hope to hear form you guys, I really could use some help and support.

I don't have any idea how well commissions through dA work or how they differ from Arena. I'm afraid I can't help you other than wishing you best of luck wherever you choose to put up your commissions!

People just tend to post 'good luck!' when people try to open commissions here which is a nice thought but not all that helpful so I'd stick to DA since you say you get commissions there

I'll agree... I don't have DA, but I'm also not trying to make ends meet through art, so I don't go out of my way to market my art around the internets. But I really don't think my post in the "Commission" thread here in the Arena generates any interest. For entertainment, I maintain a gallery thread of art I've painted here, but not to generate commissions. I think I might get a commission request every two months? :/

I agree with everyone else.  I've sold adoptables and managed to trade art for ponies, which goes really well actually; but as far as commissions, I've never gotten one here.  All of my online commissions have actually come from the furry community or back when I did anime conventions (in person).  I think that's how it goes in the original pony community.  If you sell art, it may happen at conventions or meetups.  Though I haven't had a chance to test that theory since all meet ups tend to be Saturday which is the one day I can't do them.
