Queation about collector ponies
« on: February 20, 2016, 08:59:31 AM »
Hi!

I have a question about the G1 year one collector ponies. There seems to be two types: the FF and the CF year one 82-83 which came first?

Thank you

The FF ones are the earlier release, and I believe are generally a bit rarer.

The flat foots came first - if I am remembering correctly, the concave came later as a mail order?

Flatfoots were only issued for one year, the very first.  The concave or 'collector' pose replaced them quite quickly, both for store stock and later mail order - which is why FF's are far less common, since they saw a much shorter distribution run.

Baby Sugarberry is correct.

FF ponies is when they worked out the bugs, as you see the pose is tippy. They love doing face plants. If the head seal is loose you can notice it was compensated with TWO thick washers holding her tail (they can still face plant regardless)

Tippy and all that metal($), not a shock they quickly made a new sculpt. :-)

Year one
FF-

CF-

Blossom and cotton candy came back in 83' and there were multiple mail order offers of collector ponies. so those can vary to a pretty good degree.

And Lemon Drop.  There wasn't a FF version of her, just the CF.  :)

@fantasticfirefly, thanx for your info on FF double washers:)
I discoverd two of them inside my Butterscotch when i was doing "operation de-rust" on her....now i know why there were 2 big ones inside.
