Scented pony perfume ingredients?
« on: February 20, 2016, 12:03:25 AM »
I have the sunny scent pony set from 2005, but it's been a while since I last sorted through some of my g3 ponies, and I've developed a lavender allergy in the recently, making me a little nervous about handling Lavender Lake and Tropical Surprise who were advertised as "floral scented". Does anyone happen to know if the perfume ingredients were ever listed on these ponies?

I honestly don't think so but if it makes a difference whether you can actually smell it or not, that sort of thing wears off quickly with age. Only 2 of my Sunny Scent ponies still smell.

I think it's pretty safe to say that the scents are of chemical ingredients, not natural, so they should not trigger your allergies.  :)

This is my bet as well.  At first I thought this thread was ingredients for making perfume that smells like ponies!  Man if you could bottle that scent I would be the first to buy it.  Nothing beats pony room smell :lovey:

There was a body mist I bought a few years ago that smells EXACTLY like the scent from the Perfume Puff Palace. If only I could remember the name of the fragrance...

I've noticed that the floral scented poses fade fast in comparison to the citrus scented ones.

Luscious Kisses. Victoria Secret scented body mist that smells like pony! Specifically, the perfume puff palace.

I have a mild - moderate Multiple Chemical Sensitivity due to a pesticide exposure that happened last January, and I'm always weary of the scented ponies, which is why I don't collect them.. I never started before the exposure so I guess that's a good thing so I never had to get rid of any pony(ies). Surprisingly enough, the Strawberry Shortcake toys, particularly the minis that I have that still smell do not trigger any negative reactions..I wonder what is used to make their scents. I remember the doll boxes and mini cards would read "non-toxic."

This is sort of off topic, but Caramel Crunch's smell is awful.  I used to have her, but I just couldn't stand her scent.  My Lemon Treats doesn't have any scent left at all, on the other hand.

I used to have some Strawberry Shortcake PVC minis, and they smelled FANTASTIC and their scent never faded.  I wonder what they used on them.

Some of my Sundae best (and some of my SSC dolls/figures) still have a faint scent to them.  Makes you wonder what chemicals could last this long.  :)

Completely agree with this :) I would not worry if your allergy is for lavender itself. The scents added to the plastic are all completely unnatural. So you should be fine.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi
