Nintendo 2DS freezing problem
« on: February 12, 2016, 06:36:53 PM »
I bought my daughter  a 2Ds about 3weeks ago. Every time a game is played after few minutes of playing it completely freezes up. I got it hooked up to Wi-Fi and updated it. The same issue of freezing up still occurs. Is this a normal thing for this to happen?

Also I've hunted all over the internet for answers but haven't found any.

That is odd! Have you called Nintendo? If it was a new system (not second hand), it should still be under their warranty.

Is it only freezing when you play a certain game? Is it a downloaded game (such as one pre-loaded on the system), or cartridge?

hmm Iv never had this issue, :c
I had a new 2ds back when they first came out with them and never had a problem. then I traded it in for the sea green which was used, and Iv had it for a year or two with  no problems. If you cant find anything online, it might just be a specific quirk to yours? or maybe something you downloaded has had a bad affect? im not sure but talking to Nintendo might be your best option, also if it does still have any sort of warranty on it, maybe see if you can get it replaced?

I had it happen with one of my Pokemon games on my 3DS and it was a defective cartridge. Is it just one game or anything she plays?

That's weird. I'd send it in to Nintendo to get fixed.

If it's a new console, it will be under warranty and can be sent to Nintendo for repair. I've had to send in my 3DS a few times. Just go to the following link: http://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/8261

Here you can try to find a similar problem to the one you are having. Follow the instructions and send the console to Nintendo, and they should fix it. (Bear in mind, though, that sometimes they will mess something else up in the process -- just like car repairs.)

I contacted Nintendo and the 2ds is going to be sent in for repairs. Also all the games  I tried on it u could only play it about 10 minutes before it froze up completely. Sorry about just now getting back to this my daughter has bronchitis I've been with her.
