Chance to publicly display your collection

So I've been given a chance to display my collection to the 'public' but as I have over 200 G1 ponies plus playsets, merch, pony wear and accessories, I'm not sure how to go about it.

How would you display them? By putting everything together (ie accessories with their respective ponies) or display ponies and then say the merch with everything scattered around? Or perhaps another option? Feel free to give ideas.

How do you display them at home? You may want to just do something similar to that. Also, how you display them will probably depend on the venue and what types of display furniture they will expect you to use... I would place ponies and playsets together according to year, probably, if I were trying to do something with displaying playsets...

I've only talked to the owners of a shop/museum that is opening this weekend so I don't know anything about the space available or any details like that but this is just so I can get ideas.

At home I've only just gotten them out after moving 4 years ago and only some ponies are displayed as I have very small nieces that like to play with the ones in reach so I don't have any of the really nice looking ones out. No playsets, accessories or anything else are displayed, apart from the Petite MLPs and their playsets.

that is cool. where in NZ, in chch? what kind of place is it?
i reckon as many that can fit in around playsets, sebby showed me a great way with my display and one was having the first six, (minty, snuzzle etc)  with the pretty parlour, or you could have it like the old catalog photos or playset box art

That's awesome I would love to donate my collection for display at least for a couple of years. It's spent 10 years in boxes waiting for my very own pony/care bear room

Thats really cool that you can display your collection to the public.

I would check out what possibilities they have. If there is a chance people would touch it I would go for something common. First 6, castle, showstable, pretty parlour.
If its for a short period maybe a Valentine or Easter scene.

Yep in Christchurch. It's a place called The Toy Collector and it opens from 10am today for the first time. Going there this afternoon to talk with them and see what they have in terms of display possibilities and to see what they have in general. If I can take photos I will and post them here for brainstorming, cause you guys are awesome!

No photos sorry. The place that they're going to be putting 'loan' collections hasn't been finished so I have no idea about display dimensions. But the place was stunning. They only had about 10 ponies on display, most were fakies and G3.5s no G2s and only 1 G1. They really didn't know about ponies but I educated them a bit. For those in NZ they'll be on TV One news on Tuesday, so you'll be able to see a few things.

If I'm going to put everything on display I think I might have to give all of them a wash... plus work out the big pile of ribbons I have still to sort. It maybe that I have to recruit some friends...
