Oh no RIP

I loved his roles as Severus and in Sweeney Todd (I didn't know he could sing so well and so deep voice!). Ofc he was super good in any role he was in!

I first saw him in Sense and Sensibilities. I loved his dry, sarcastic wit and he just looked so collected and kinda intimidating. RIP.

At first I thought it was a joke, with him being 69 and it being cancer, but no. My first encounter with him was in Robin Hood, Prince of thieves where he did a fun sheriff of Notthingham. Then I remember seeing him in Sense and Sensibilities and he looked so different and yet the same. It took me a while to realise where I had seen him before. Next thing he was on Harry Potter and it was such a huge lovley contrast, back to black but more serious. He did great with Marvin in Hitch Hikers guide to the Galaxy, he was just the perfect voice.

I'm rereading Harry Potter at the moment and planned on watching the movies afterwards. The actingworld has lost a great man, a man who in my opinion didn't get the credit he deserved.

Oh no! Now this one hits me hard...

I was a huge fan of the Harry Potter books as I was growing up, and I was pretty disappointed in the movies. I guess it was because I had their whole world and its characters visualized in my head, and the movie didn't match that (which is okay, obviously) but Alan Rickman's portrayal of Snape was hands down one of the most amazing things about the movies and one of the few things about the movies that I loved.

Cancer is one of those unfortunate reminders that diseases and illnesses don't discriminate. But I'm absolutely sure Alan Rickman lived a very happy and successful life.

Oh yes I forgot this role! He was awesome in Sense and Sensibilities. Just like I imagined in my head while reading the book.

Alan Rickman's portrayal of Snape was hands down one of the most amazing things about the movies and one of the few things about the movies that I loved.

This! Nothing else was good in Potter movies except Snape (no offend to any potter movie fan). He captured that character so well!

I don't know how well known of a movie it is, but I really liked him in Blow Dry.
