A somewhat disappointing brag lol

Baby Liquorice/Licorice has been on my wanted list for quite some time, but never in my price range online  Every time my mother and I go to a pony fair I always tell her to be on the look out for her, but we never have any luck.

Last year I taught my mom how to use Craigslist to search for ponies so that she could help me find good deals on any ponies that I needed locally, and she's usually pretty good at be able to see the difference between a fakie and a genuine pony. Lately I haven't had spare time to even look on Craigslist, been pretty busy and I know that my mom would tell me if she found anything on there.

So I celebrated Christmas at my mom's house on the 24th, and she had me open one present last for a reason. I shook the box and could tell that there were ponies inside ! I opened the present and on top of some random fakies and G3s that I already owned sat....Baby Liquorice? Or so I thought at first glance. I picked her up and immediately saw that it was a custom Baby Liquorice. Apparently my face showed my slight disappointment because my mom asked me why I wasn't jumping for joy like she thought I would be lol. I told her that the baby wasn't a real one, but a custom made one.

My poor mother, she was more heartbroken then I was ! She explained to me how she found the lot on Craigslist and recognized Baby Liquorice amongst all the ponies. She bought it and was saving it for me as a Christmas present. She was so sad lol. But I let her know how much I appreciated the thought and even if Baby Liquorice wasn't genuine, she will still look quite adorable on my shelf

She's actually quite cute, I might not even need a real Baby Liquorice now that I have this precious little thing ! I can always appreciate a custom and I can tell someone worked hard on this cutie  If the person who made this pony is on here, just know that she has found a new loving home and will be treasured !

While it's a bummer to end up with a custom when you were expecting the real thing, at least its a nice one! It would be cool if you could track down the artist!

Oh wow, how random that Baby Liquorice was a custom!  Your poor mum, I bet she was just as disappointed at you.  She did so well to recognize her in that photo, lol.  She looks like a very nicely made custom though so at least you can keep her until you finally get an original!

Your poor mom! It was so sweet of her to get this for you, though - from the photo in the listing, though, anyone could have made the same mistake! At least she's still cute, and now she has a fun story to go with her. Hopefully you will find her "twin" someday, though!

At the very least your mom loves you. The fact that she used craiglist and could tell by that photo that it was the body of the pony you were looking for is just love and awesomeness all in one! I am sure you will get your grail pony but at the least you still have a sweet story.
