The ponies live in a region called Ponyland (literally "the country of ponies") which either includes Dream Valley or is a part of Dream Valley.  The writer's guide described Ponyland as being the size of a national park suggesting the former.
I meant inside Dream Valley where they live.  ^.^
I never seen a single town or even house so far other than Paradise Estate, which I doubt could home this many ponies at once.

As far as I know, the ponies supposedly all lived in Paradise Estate.  Um . . . just pretend it's bigger on the inside, like a TARDIS.  ;)

I wish they'd stayed in Dream Castle, I love castles.

Another weakness of the animation. The comic had more living locations for the different ponies. Eg Rainbow Curl ponies lived on Rainbow Mountain and they had the Rainbow Nursery there for the Rainbow Babies. I'm not sure the comic ponies ever lived in Paradise Estate, really. The flutters found it in a cloud, but there was a whole awkwardness about it with no Paradise and all.

In any case, while no specific houses were necessarily shown, there are moments - I think again going back to Gingerbread and Sweetie, they're shown cooking in a kitchen which is inside. There are also regions and areas, though. And Memory Lane.

So in comic terms Ponyland was a country and it had different regions and neighbouring lands which housed different species or different friends of the ponies that they would go to on some quest or other. I don't think there was ever the sense they all lived in one of the buildings.

Or the Scarlet's Mansion. :D
Oh well, I was really hoping for seeing a G1 Ponyville somewhere.

Oh, I guess I should also add that the baby ponies specifically live in the Lullabye Nursery.  The only time they're shown sleeping in PE is when the nursery interior is being repainted.

Early g1 ponies are definitly more horse like than later incarnations.  Some of them may have lived inside and slept in beds but maybe most of them actually slept outside like real horses.  Maybe they took turns on who slept inside.

I think they all slept inside.  Remember, everything and its uncle wanted to kill them.

I would have liked if they had kept the castle as well.  I know Paradise Estate was a far superior playset, but it seemed to be a downgrade in the actual series.  It didn't have a back fence for crying out loud.  They could have done like the comic and have the ponies dispersed among he different playsets.  Some lived in Dream Castle and it was their go to shelter.  Most lived in the more modern accommodations of Paradise Estate.  The Show Stable was their athletic center.  The Grooming Parlor was where they would be like the spa in Ponyville.  The baby ponies would be taken care of in the Lullaby Nursery as they did.

I just watched The Prince and the Ponies and saw the animation error with Baby Quacker's eye near the end of the song. :)

Was it? I didn't know that. I admit, towards the end the animation got cruddy. You guys made me pull out my boxset,I'm sitting down with the 4th DVD.

The songs are a mixed bag. Some are cringeworthy, some are good, some are meh.

Even now Baby Fifi's accent is lodged in my poor little brain. Ice Cream Wars. The trauma.

Baby ponies are cute. Their voices, not so much. :s

Did anyone else notice how many times Baby North Star changed colors in Ice Cream Wars? She started out hot pink.

I remember there was a moment where there were two Baby Lickety-Splits.

Speaking of her.  She was far and away my least favorite of the baby ponies from the movie on down.  Remember she was the instrument of their near destruction in the Magic Coins.
