Is Sunsplasher easy or difficult to find?
« on: November 27, 2015, 07:07:02 AM »
Is Sunsplasher easy or difficult to find? She's one of the few SHS I actually like. How much would I want to pay for her?

Thank you. :)

For what I have seen the Sundazzle and the Pretty pony sets are more uncommon than the others ponies in the SHS  molds , but it looks like this two sets are not too sought after?

I have seen them around priced  $10 to  $20

I think they're a little harder to find than the Pretty Ponies seem to be - but then none of them were sold in the UK so I'm basing that on ebay. I think at one point they were sought after as year 10 ponies; not sure about now. I actually think they're a really pretty set, though :) and would think $10-20 is about what I've seen them listed for (if in good condition)

I think Sunglory seems to be the rarest of the set? She doesn't seem to come up so much...or is that my imagination?

I don't know. I just started looking for them. They're full of so much neon goodness. The SHS are too frou frou impo and their color schemes and symbols don't appeal to me. But the Sundazzle girls are something special. I'd get all three if it didn't put me over my pony limit.

I always really loved the glittering ones, they're quite stunning. But the Sundazzle are awesome colourwise too, I agree. Good luck with finding Sunsplasher (although if you get her you then run the risk of getting her sisters as well xD)

Well I agree that some SHS have bland or boring colors, but  if you get a a bait SHS, alt  color rehairs can improve them

Here's my rehair of a Beautybloom

Thanks I think the Pretty pony ones suffer more because they have the same body and hair color but in a different shade, I remember when I realised "hey, nearly all the SHS have a single colored hair and soft colors, that's boring" lol

I usually see them for around $15.  The later years ponies aren't super common, but this set is not super sought after either.  They have grown on me, I have to admit.

I take no responsibility for persuading anyone to adopt ponies :D

I also agree that Beauty Bloom looks better like that, with bicolour hair. I never actually understood the Pretty Ponies - weren't they like a beginner pony in basic colours for new collectors or something? Because, really, they look like the original set of SHS minus the earrings. Although I must admit I really love my Garden Glow, it's largely because her hair is so pretty, not because the set is particularly dazzling.

I shall say nothing more about Sunbeam and Sunglory ;) The glittery ones though...ah, they're special :)

I have Sunsplasher! I see a few on eBay from time to time. There've been times I've wanted to sell her, but she's from childhood. Not sure if I could part with her, I do like her shape - she'd definitely fit in if she had sunburn colored friends with her ;) Also she has frizzy hair (the white that changes) and hair no longer changes color. They're an interesting set!
