Rapunzel Rescue Mission!

I found this poor little Rapunzel at Salvation Army today:

It looks like the poor thing has never seen a hairbrush in her life! I couldn't resist the challenge, though, so I adopted her and brought her home for some intense hair therapy.

Does anyone have any advice on getting through her hair? I soaked her head in conditioner for a while, which helped, but it's still SUPER hard to comb. I worked on her for a good half an hour, and only got one tiny chunk of her hair done.

Son of a Gun Vinyl treatment and cleaner  - it's an automotive product but it's amazing on doll hair.

Conditioner and a nice sturdy comb/brush. I also use a flat iron to work out the frizz.

Liquid fabric softener mixed with water in a spray bottle...for super-knotty hair I've used a half/half mixture.  Just spray it on the hair and comb it with a wide-tooth comb.  Has worked wonders for me with doll hair and synthetic wigs (doll and people-sized)

I ended up having to cut about half the hair off; I think someone might have taken a hairdryer to her at some point, because it was actually melted together in spots. :yikes: So now she's Rapunzel's shorter-haired twin. XD

I'm still working through some tangles and frizz, and then evening up the haircut, but I think she looks worlds better. I'll try to get a picture of her with her new 'do later.
