I'm so grossed out by all those photos...bleh.. but yet, I can't turn away!

Same thing that happened to me in college when we did a fun experiment. The class (I think it was an environmental science class??) got one dish, swabbed anywhere they wanted to and waited to see if there was any growth. . . Mine was the worst by far.. I swabbed the classroom's outer door handle! It looked like some kind of yeast.?? :yucky:

Hehe...someone was nibbling some fruit!?! That penicillin looks so cool and gross.. :P

Oh gosh I did that too in high school. The biggest mold growth was from the door, and my glasses! Ever since then I've never bought glasses that had those nose piece things. I get a hard plastic frame with no nose pieces that I can easily keep clean!

Uh oh... Not surprising.. but..  :lookround: ::feeling dirty wearing her "nose-piece things" glasses now::
 >_<

Omg.... That poor ponies body is shrinking? The head looks the same though. These are really cool!

Thanks! I think it's pretty interesting too, though I feel bad for the ponies.  I keep telling myself it's okay because I will clean them and turn them into awesome science based customs  I think I'm going to try to remove the mold from the swab + internal no H2O added Majesty today or tomorrow and see if it leaves marks.  I'll let the other Majesty and the rest of them go for another 5 or 6 months I think.

So curious to see if this time of exposure is enough to leave marks or not. This thread is fascinating, I always wonder if I do enough to prevent mold and whether or not certain dots are/aren't even mold to begin with (someone mentioned highlighter looking marks previously).

I definitely think the majority of stains are probably not mold related- especially saddle sores, regrind and probably pony cancer.  I think the patterning we are seeing is characteristic of some stains I have found on ponies though.

First post updated with cleaning results and examination under microscope.
