Can Mimic be sunfaded?
« on: November 13, 2015, 06:41:57 AM »
I have a pretty baity Mimic with tail rust, bleeding symbols, and a few other problems. Around her tail hole it is all red stained from her tail too. Can this be sunfaded without ruining her body colour? (Her colour is still nice, this might be the only good thing about her! Lol)
Sorry I have no picture, she is in storage right now.

The sun will fade everything...its just that it will fade surface stains much faster than it will bleach the colour out of plastic :) So, as long as you have as much of her covered as possible (hair, symbols, body where there is no stain) and as long as you keep a close eye on her, she will be fine to sun fade :)
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

I left my Mimic dressed up in some pony wear on a shelf, not in direct sunlight, but in a very bright room.  Checked on her about a year after I put her there, and when I moved the outfit, her body was darker under the parts where the outfit was.  Not a MAJOR noticeable difference, but a very slight lightening of her body was happening

So yes, Mimic does fade in the sun.

SkyRocket, you live in Barbados!  So cool!  Also I can imagine sunfading doesn't take but a few days for you...

I think if you check on Mimic everyday, you would be all right.

Thanks for your input. I think I will give it a try with everything but the stains covered. I live in Canada, so it probably will be a slow process.

Slow is best I think, with sun fading her; mine is faded to a light yellow color from years and years of California sun. :)
