It started out as a simple review of the Pet Pals but it ended up incorporating tons of various types of Lalaloopsies and even a mini Mooshka. Over the course of the review I went from a pretty casual Lalaloopsy fan to totally obsessed. I already picked up another of the Pet Pals, Leafy the koala, and I've spent far too much time in the Lalaloopsy aisle daydreaming, haha.

So happy you brought up the Mooshka toys because they remind me so much of Loopsies. What with their "sewn" look, and now they've finally expanded into hard minis which I like much more to their plush big toys.

I have the elephant and she fits in with my Loopsies pretty well. Glad someone else is giving them some attention.

I hadn't really seen Mooshkas before, aside from on TBP of course, so that was tons of fun. I've totally fallen in love with the minis. I think our Target stopped stocking them, but last time I checked was in the middle of the gender neutral reorganization so I should check again. I'm really hoping to add a couple more to my collection at least. The elephant was my second favorite and I almost went with that one for the review.

I keep Fox by my laptop so I can play with her a bit. She's so fun to pose.

I will have to check it out! I am a big Lala fan, I have a pretty big collection of the big dolls thanks to my husband spoiling me rotten. He even built special hook things along the walls in our hallway for my dolls to display on.

Hey, I really enjoyed your article. Thanks for sharing it! I was checking out a lot of mini's in person today and was struck by the quality paint job and tiny details they could have skipped over, like the mint leaves in minty ice cream hair, for example. Seemed like yours were the same as mine, in that the worst of the paint job came from a few tiny specks of it rather than bad outlining. I also really liked that other toy you reviewed-I'll have to check those out.

I think I like the mini pets better-something about big hunks of plastic without much detail never seems as cute to me- I think that's why I liked mini loopsies before getting attached to the big ones, too.

I remember seeing you post about those hooks a while back! I thought they were so clever. I didn't have any interest in the big dolls before but now I'm dying to get my hands on at least one.

Yep, that sounds just like my experiences. I loved all the great details and the perfect size of the minis. I never thought I'd fall for the bigger ones (although I have wanted "one" Little since they were released) but man, I've fallen so hard, haha!

That's so cool! Congrats on getting the opportunity. Looks like you really enjoyed it. =) I don't collect Lalas apart from some of the ponies, but some of the mini ones tempt me sometimes...Also I have never noticed the Mooshkas before, but that fox is pretty darn cute!

I have a super random question - you said MGA told you to "deface" your original Toothy. What does that mean if you don't mind me asking? I have a guess as to what it might mean based on the context but I've never heard of it and I was just curious.

Thank you! Yeah, it was a lot of work (way more than I expected) but it was also tons of fun.

Of course I don't mind! They had "me" (aka my boyfriend because I couldn't bring myself to do it) write a specific number on her face and take a picture of it. I assume it was to prove ownership and make her unsellable/unusable, plus not allowing anyone else to claim she was their's for a duplicate replacement. The last part they actually said was why it needed to be done but I'd guess the other parts are still a factor.

Omg!  I read your review when it got posted and I loved it!  I had no idea that an Arena person had written it!  You did such a great job!  (and made me want a Lalaloopsy, I sense a Target trip in my future lol)
