Does you have pets or family members named after characters?

I'm named after a character in a book that my dad fell in love with, sadly I never learned the name of the book before he passed away.

Our dog Tidus is named after the lead character in FFX. We also have a fish named Nemo and a cat named Luna.

I guess technically my pet ferret is named after a character?  More like a species, though.  His name is Furret, like the Pokemon Furret.

I feel like I reached the peak of names with that one, though.  We're getting a second ferret and I have no idea what we'll name it!

As for me, I don't know anyone else named Renia.  I remember finding it funny that there were at least 20 girls named Brittany (or a variation of that spelling) when I was in high school, and almost every girl had the middle name Marie.  I was suddenly very happy to have such a unique first and middle name.  Not to mention, I sort of enjoy the compliments I get on my name. Fun fact: there's a little girl out there (although she should be a teenager now) that shares my name!  When I was younger, I left such an impression on this random woman (I can't remember where we met her), that she tracked down my mom's info several years later to let us know that her first born daughter's middle name was Renia, after me.  She didn't want to make it her first name, since she felt like that was kinda stealing my mom's idea, haha.

my dog is named cortana, (from the halo series. i almost named her 'vriska' since i was in my homestuck phase when i had adopted her, dodged a bullet there ) my cat is named peridot, (originally after the gemstone, but after i had adopted her the steven universe character was soon introduced ) and my fish are named stripe and gizmo! my old pet parrotlet was named groose, from the legend of zelda character. groose sadly passed away a few months ago, but she was a great and kind little bird!

I had a dog as a child named Copper after the dog from The Fox and the Hound.

Unfortunately, I was named after a drugged up actress. I DETEST my name.

My cat bucky is named after everybody's sidekick superhero. I actually got i'm shortly after Bucky Barnes was revealed to have been alive in the comics.

Our dog is named "Detective Kate Beckett NYPD" from the tv show castle. I call her Beckett, since i have a lot of friends named Katie or Kate and it's weird to yell. "Katie! go potty!" late at night.

phonetically my name is the same as a tv character from the 80's, so everyone asks if i love chachi...... my answer is always, no.

As for me, I do not know of another Lari (pronounced lar-ee... the "lar" rymes with "car") whatsoever....I swear I'm the only person with that name!

Aaahhh everyone who asks about my name always thinks my name is Larissa! xD Nope nopes! Some person at work actually called me "Larry" like woah brah.... some serious mispronunciation there!

Hmmmm I guess we named Zoë after my husband's favorite restaurant but that's not really a character from a TV show! xD

My dogs and cat at the moment all have normal names. As a kid my old dog name was Shakira, like the singer. I also own a cat named Kaworu (Evangelion) an another named Dave (Homestuck) sadly both dissapear one day from home : (

But that's traditional first born Italian stuff.


I don't like the names in particular, but they hold a sentimental connection.

AMAZING.  Is it Dougal?  It HAS to be Dougal...?   I just love him to death.

I had guinea pigs named Gadget (from Rescue Rangers) and Dr. Guinn, Medicine Pig (remember that old show Dr. Quinn?).  Also Bob and Dora the goldfish (Bob the Builder and Dora the Explorer).  But otherwise I guess I haven't used many character names for my pets.  I should be getting some parakeets soon so we'll see what they end up with

I was gonna say no, but then realised the answer is yes. Three cats, two named after characters. A female named Tarzan (she liked to climb and swing in curtains as a kitten) and a ginger boy named Simba after the Lionking.

One of my cats is named Bastet, but everyone calls her Bass (like the fish) for short. And my big ol' syrian hamster is named Ludo, after the friendly monster from Labyrinth.

I get asked if my daughter is named after Hannah Montana, but she's actually named after ESPN anchor Hannah Storm, and the lady who brought my meals to me while I was in the hospital.

-Yoshi, he stayed at mom and dads house after I moved out
-Chloe who my husband named after Chloe Sullivan on Smallville
-Zuzu is named after the youngest daughter on the movie It's a Wonderful Life
-Mr. T who has since passed away was named cuz he was a tough kitten- he pushed everyone away so he could have the best nipple when they were nursing lol
