How rare is Holly Dash?

I'm wondering this because it's really the only G4 I wish to have, I have some Funko and some Blind Bag ponies but no "real" toys, I don't really like the G4 line, they are so small.

But I love Holly Dash pattern. But I have never saw it in store here (I live in France).

Is this pony rare? Was it a US exclusive?

Definitely not a US exclusive, as we never got her here.  I believe she was only found in the UK?  I can't recall, but I got her from an Arena member who lived in the UK and was able to pick her up at a store.

But yes, she's very rare.  We did a bulk Taobao order a few months ago and several members were able to get her that way, but otherwise she's extremely hard to find.

She seems to be pretty rare.  She was never released in the US.  From what I've seen, she sells for between $10 and $25, so more than normal but not impossible.  Good luck with finding her!

Isn't it just how that goes, though?  Just like how Daisy Dreams was the first fashion style I was excited for in a long time, and lo and behold, she wasn't released in the US.  I eventually got her, but it sucked not being able to pay retail price for her.

I manage to find and buy 4 here in Dublin, Ireland. 1 went to friend in swap for dolls, one on ebay and two for myself then saw maybe two more in store but I was out of cash sooo... and then gone forever

She was sadly a victim of Hasbro's crappy distribution and never showed up in some places, and only in small numbers elsewhere (I only saw her in TRU and some Entertainers here). The Wave 2s of lines are often skipped if Wave 1 doesn't sell well or if the next batch becomes available very quickly (CMM appeared quite quickly after that Rainbow Power set so I think many retailers just got in the "Newer" CMM line).

I think I may have seen her for sale recently.. I'll keep an eye out and let you know if I come across her again.

I always check for her but she was only plentiful in numbers around February-March here, and by the time I knew there was a demand for her, they'd more or less stopped selling her. Entertainer here was the only place they sold her, and then they moved onto the Cutie Mark Magic ponies, which they still have I think. I only found one Holly Dash and one Rainbow Power Rarity for resale, both of whom now live in California. The retail is £5 which is $8USD but I suspect that now she's not in stores any more, and sold out everywhere, the price is going to go up.  I did actually see someone selling one at Hyper Japan in London last July, for retail price, but I didn't get it and it sold quickly. I have no idea what she was even doing at Hyper Japan, honestly.

I need to get across to Smyths, actually, because they sold the first rainbow set ad nauseum and were very behind on orders. Have a feeling, though, that they jumped to CMM and didn't bother with that Rainbow Power set.

Ultimately she'll come up at carboot sales and second hand shops and such. It might be a case of holding out for that to happen, depending on how many we've already exported from the UK and how many got bought by kids rather than collectors. Unless you can find someone who can get a retail cost one for you now, or find a really good deal, now is probably the worst time to try and buy her - since her price will probably go up now she's not in stores and there are generally more desperate bid wars right after that point than there may be when second hand ones start showing up on ebay.

She's not rare, she just never hit the US so sometimes secondary market prices for her are high as people who really want her and don't want to wait for a better price-  nudge the price up.

That fact actually makes her rare. The market here is much smaller than the market over there, and that means the supply and the demand are not equal. Even when she was here, it was only for a month or two. I don't think she was rare when she was out, but she is rare now, and getting rarer. That's why buying her now is a bad idea. It's better to wait till there are a few second hand ones on ebay, driving the price back down to reasonable levels (or in lots). Paying it now will just help to cement her at a higher value.

Looks like you can get one for about $8-10 from sellers in Malasia (MIP), but it looks like they are charging shipping of nearly the same.

If you didnt want to pay that much for her and can't find a UK shipping buddy, you could try Taobao there appear to be plenty available.
