I did a ton of research on these a few months ago when I was looking for one, and the consensus I got across tech blogs was that none of the consumer-grade fitness trackers are particularly accurate. I looked at FitBit, Garmin, Runkeeper, and Jawbone Up, and every objective review said the same thing. Basically, none of them are accurate but if they help motivate you, great.

I now own an Apple Watch, which, when compared with the readings from a medical grade heart monitor, appears to be very accurate. Heart rate is the primary factor in measuring cardiac output and effort during exercise, so that's why I'm sticking with it.
Will always trade for limited edition/90s Pikachu stuff!

It doesn't do much for low impact exercise like biking, pilates, weights, etc. Its strengths are with logging cardio activity, running, stuff like that. I got a Fitbit last summer and liked it but it's pretty bossy.

I have a Fitbit Flex. All it does is track my sleep (which is pretty cool!) and monitor my steps as well as exercise. It also has this buzzing alarm feature, which I love for school days when I have to get up early. It's a cute little device for monitoring activity. For cycling, you might want the Fitbit Charge HR. It tracks heart beat, and exercise a little bit better then then the Flex. (I don't know much about the HR, you'd have to look into it yourself.) The only cons to this device is that if it dies, the charger may not work, thus either resetting it or buying a new charger. It's accuracy isn't the best, as it can be off a lot. I also noticed that on time changes, it can lag and act a little bizarre. If you want much more accuracy, you should probably go with the Apple iWatch.Other then that, I'd recommend it.  go for it!
