Round round, get around, I get around

How do you get around? Since I was given a bike late last summer, I use that as my primary mode of transportation. Mr. Stomper usually takes the van to work, so I don't have it available as much. Also, I don't walk as much as I used to, probably because the bike gets me places faster. But I should get into walking again.

I should also mention I usually want Mr. Stomper to drive me around more often than I want to drive myself around. But that said, I'll drive my own self around about as readily.

Anyway...

I have an awesome itty bitty car that gets really good gas mileage. And since I only live about 2 miles from where I work and go to school, I don't usually drive very far, so I only have to get gas about once a month. BUT since my car is a dark color and is so small, often larger vehicles don't see me and try to run me over all the time... that's why I'm the best defensive driver I know.

I drive my own vehicle. Been driving since I got my driver's license at the age of 18. I live out in the countryside, so it's absolutely a necessity to have a vehicle to get to all the places I need to go.

I take the light rail and walk- so I guess public transportation.  I use the car for doing things like going to costco, although at least a couple times a month I do like to be lazy and drive in (at which times the wife gives me crap about not getting enough exercise and also killing the planet, but I actually think she just likes to have the car always available for her use...)

I have my own car but I'm very uncomfortable with driving. I don't have a choice these days but I take any chance I get to hitch a ride with someone else so I don't have to drive myself!

Ditto. I don't often leave the small town I live in, but when I do go somewhere else, it's all farms for miles in every direction -- no public transportation here! (But maybe I could ride a horse? Or a cow?)

I drive. I've never taken a bus anywhere except the campus bus, or a train, except in Germany.

It depends where I am.  But in SoCal where I am right now, I drive most places.  It's kind of an urban sprawl with no good public transportation, so walking or catching the bus is super difficult.  When I was in NY and Beijing, I walked or caught the subway.  It was just easier to do that there.

I do a little bit of both walking and driving.  We live in walking distance to the kids' school and the public library and a few parks, so we don't take the car to those places.  But to do the grocery shopping, I take the car because for a family of 6, it's a lot of groceries to put on a bicycle, lol!

I drive to most places I go, but there are a few places within walking distance of my apartment. I don't have to drive as far for most things, since most of the stores and the mall are only a few miles away, although you have to get creative with the route to avoid all of the traffic. But now it takes about a half hour to get to my Dad's or my Mom and Stepdad's, and about 40 to get to my sister's.

The driving is never an issue, I'd rather drive places than take any other form of transport. The only problem is that my car gets worse mileage than my old one, and it only takes premium, so it costs a bit more to drive.

What about all of the above?    I own a car, I can drive a car, I have a DL, I have a bus pass, I have friends and a husband to drive me around.  I love to walk and bike too.

I have a car. You need one where I live because there are no bus stops near me, and stores are too far to bike to. It's not a long car ride to most places, though. I can be anywhere in town in 5-15 minutes by car.

I walk and take public transit, which is relatively new for me. Now I've got a job that's sending me all over the city, so I'm finally learning to take the subway, trolleys, trains and buses on my own. There was basically no bus or train system where I lived in Minnesota, so I would get driven everywhere I need to go. I vastly prefer using public transportation.

I've never had a driver's license and there is no public transportation where I live. Also no sidewalks, or bike trails... and people on bikes are always getting killed here...

So I get a ride with someone else.
