Defrizzing questions
« on: June 26, 2015, 11:53:44 AM »
Is there a way I can defrizz G1 hair while keeping most of the original curl? I know boiling is the most tried and true method, but I wasn't sure what it would do to original curls.

Also, I have a Megan doll who is in lovely shape but for a chewed foot and ridiculously frizzy hair. >_< Can the pony methods for defrizzing be used on her hair, too? Or is it another blend that should be treated differently?

Thanks!

All the heat based defrizzing methods will unfortunately take away factory curl too. :(

That's a shame...does anyone else have tips, especially for what to do with Megan?

I've found G1 factory curls surprisingly durable. If the frizz is not extreme, simply washing and conditioning them may help. My personal standard method is to comb through the dry hair to untangle anything you can. Then shampoo and condition the hair in cold water, gently squeezing the curls in your hands, and they will spring back to place. Dry on a horizontal surface.

I've got no special advice on the Megan doll, as I've never defrizzed one.

I agree with mul-ta, factory curls are surprisingly durable and will put up with a gentle wash. However any of the extreme methods for defrizzing may cause you problems.

Do you have a picture of what you mean?

Often factory curls can look a little wild and untamed - so it may be the release does not actually need that kind of work. :)

I'd like to see a pic too if you have it... I have a pony with pretty messed up factory curl, I'm curious to see if yours is in similar shape to mine.
