Mattel Little Pretty Kitty question and pc
« on: June 20, 2015, 09:32:28 PM »
I have decided to sell my collection of Little Pretty Kitty and Fairytale birds at the fair this year.  While getting things ready I started to wonder why some of the little pretty kitties have long hair and others have short.  Were there two releases of the same cats but with different hair lengths?

Also can anybody help with a pc on them?

I have Frosty Fur (short hair), Zizi (long hair), Rosebud (one long hair and one short hair), Bow (short hair), and Peach Blossom  (no picture frame but her hair has tight curls).

Does it look like their hair is cut at all?  I don't collect so I wouldn't know :(

The ones with short hair do not appear to be cut as far as I know.  They are all the same length and I had bought them from various places.  Also the ghost of the doll website on them has stock pictures of them with the short hair too.  I do have a short haired one with cut hair too (a duplicate) but the length is shortened off only a little bit of the tail and not all of it.

Yep, there were two releases of the first set kitties (Rosebud, Frosty Fur, Mimi, and Zizi). I'm pretty sure the ones with long hair were the first releases and the ones with short hair were the second releases that came along with the Glitter 'n Grow kitties and puppies. So, your Zizi and one of your Rosebuds are first releases. Oh, and Bow I think always had short hair in her one release in the Polished Paws series.

Their prices can fluctuate so much, but I'd say $4 on the adults (if they're in good condition with no accessories) and $7 or $8 on Cherry Blossom.

I didn't know the longer hair ones were the first releases. I have a long hair Rosebud. :)

Actually, some of them can go for about $30. I know because I've paid that price for some of mine. :P  And if you have one MOC they can sell for quite a bit. I was lucky enough to find one MOC at a flea market at few years ago for $5. I wasn't collecting at the time and a hung onto her. I am so glad I did!
